Ah, now... we talked about this at the Christmas lunch. Lord Foghorn of Nantwich reckons his is louder with the H-pipe (the phrase "demented blacksmith" has lodged in my mind) but Jeff of FD fame reckons the H-pipe is without doubt quieter.

H Pipe is not as trumpety as the x pipe. It's deeper compared to the X pipe and gives more of a growl. From what I recall higher up the rev range X pipe gives more torque as opposed to the H pipe giving more torque at low revs.

If you get the Larini Sports Cats as well, it doesn't matter too much between the X or the H as you can't hear anything anyway!

I am just on the train back from looking at the GTS MC Shift - remarkably impressed at the
General condition inside and out, and the drive... Poles apart to the 4.2.
Definitely ticks the boxes and pending anything other than a cataclysmic VHC, it will have a new home soon.
If I couldn't get the extra money, I would definitely have considered parting with a kidney, or part of my liver to fund the difference.
Ironically- It had a trickle charger wire in the back- and one of the mechanics came over to say they could fit one for 170 pounds which was far batter and safer!
Watt was he talking about? Anyway , sparks flew and after some resistance from me, he went off to mind his ohm business, working on a Ferrari in parallel to someone else who seems to be ampereing his work.

Fingers crossed I am luckier than kettmark with the hand over... I couldn't face that journey again.
All I need to to buy Stuart's X pipe, get the wheels dipped black- and it's good to go...

Was that one of Nareman's at Nuvola?

No it's at graypauls- I was going
To nuvola but this one came up at low miles, perfect colour combo and better priced. And they are offering to do a lot of work- new clutch, brakes etc.

Will post pics when I have it- if someone can tell me how!

Result if you are getting a clutch and brakes - brakes all round on a 4.7 are about £2500.

Much different from the auto Iain? I was contemplating looking at one but it sold before I had the chance to view. Appears to be back on sale now though! Happy with my auto though. Suits my driving style better.

They are all different, even the 4.7 auto is very different to the 4.2 auto given the former allows manual control and the latter does not. The key is for people to get the GranTurismo that they want as it's actually three or four very different cars that look the same to most people.

I never drove the 4.7 auto makers the end- only the 4.2.
But I know
From driving that - what I wanted from the experience. For me I think the MCShift will be the right buy, and the auto setting worked ok for me on it.
I like the potential for it to have two characters- Harry's Evo review also helped my decision. They are all amazing cars though, and I am very excited about owning one. Just have to keep my fingers crossed that I am lucky and little things don't go wrong- that would drive me crazy.
Which one did you look at that is back available now?
I think the one you got was really lovely. Classy colour combo and a good deal.

Iain, I was going to look at the car at Hare Motors in Halifax. It was apparently sold (subject to finance), but is still on Autotrader. Could well be sold & they've not removed it from the site. It happens Iain!
