Maserati Centenary Trip

Arrived in Verona after an epic drive around North West Italy. The run from Modena to Lucca is the absolute bollox; tight, twisty, fast, slow, smooth and rough as f*ck, it has the lot. Saw Pisa, and wtf? Haven't the Italians heard of spirit levels and plumb bobs? A blind man on a galloping horse could have done a better job but the real genius is turning what is fundamentally a roaring f*ck up, built by the lowest bidder, into a tourist attraction, owned by the highest bidder. Hats off to whoever came up with that one. Probably the same guy that convinced everyone that a sinking city is another place to see before it dies. The run over from Pisa to Verona was fast and fraught; the Italians are to driving what the french are to rancid camel c0cks; complete w4nkers. F*cking foreigners should all be shot. Anyhoo, sat in the bar with Captain Chaos and just about to quaff another beer. I'll be back with a report of tomorrow's shenanigans across to Lake Garda. So far, morale good and no signs of scurvy amongst the crew.

Hope everyone is making good progress.
Emma and I are stuck in a very quiet Modena for another night, still every cloud has a silver lining, not in any hurry to leave (see below)

Seamen stains is on the boat I think...
I'm on the 20.30 Calais to Dover so roughly 970 miles for Modena to Calais in 11 hours... Four fill ups and a splash & dash; I think it is the furthest I've driven solo in a day 1,030 ish by the time I suprise my youngest by wishing him a happy birthday in person :) Worth it I hope...

All in it will be 3,280 miles, average speed for the whole trip is 72!!! 16.4mpg (track clobbered that); fixed grin priceless....

WHAT AN EFFIN FECKIN AWESOME FECKIN TIME!!!!!!!!

7th day in a row I'm going to get an adrenaline crash; I need it to be after I'm home though!!! Can't get to sleep on the boat so I'm just going to rest my eyes; rough crossing!

What an awesome trip. Massive thanks to Matt, Robert and Drew for all the organising. Great events, dinners and with great company as well.

Thanks to all for making it a fun and memorable time. My first ever trip to Modena will live in the memory for a very long time. It was more, much more, then I had hoped.

Today we drove to Switzerland to do the Furka, Gotthard, Grimsell and Susten passes. They were pretty epic. Though the weather did not hold and I did the entire Sustenpass in torrential rain. It was ridiculous, my *** is still clenched now!!

I feel for you mate, it's a tough life, innit... Finished dinner here, overlooking Lake Como at the water's edge... Some of Mr Clooney's friends here for the wedding too. Just one Maserati though :)

Sharing the boat with a whole coach load of paras who had a frustrating trip to Arnhem where they were scheduled to do a commemorative 70th aniversary jump but fog an cloud prevented them. They are in good spirits heading back to Colchester so I've been told I have to give them some noise in a bit!!! It would be rude not to...

Hi everybody,
I arrived safely to Geneva with a lot of pictures in my head... The week will be not enough to land after a so amazing weekend.
It was really nice to meet you in Italy and the best moment was, for me, the Museo Panini with 70 cars parked and the Museo Casa Enzo Ferrari with about 50 Maserati parked right at the entry of the this wonderful exhibition...and the track, and the Dinner....
The complete weekend was nice in fact...

Have a look here, there is some pictures and more coming...

I hope to see you again before Goodwood next year ;-)

All the best and Forza Maserati Passion

Holed up in a rather lovely chateau near Epernay. Epic drive from Modena to Milan, Aosta valley, San Bernardino, along lake Geneva, up to Besancon, past Troyes and now here; 600+ miles. A dash to Calais tomorrow for the earliest train I can get on and then back home. I still have no brake pads!

Are you still going? A man of your age should be in bed by now - you still have 'foreigners' to terrorise tomorrow!

We terrorised a few today and some of them may never venture outdoors again. We left one Japseye with poo stains on his seat when we did a 'U'y and nearly took his side out. When he slowed down to vocally vent his displeasure we gave him a digital indication as to what he could, and should, do and gave him a full volume fly-past to non-intrusively remove his ear wax. All in all, a successful sortie into the soft under-belly of hostile Europe. However, the ba5tards have now come up with a dastardly plan to thwart the English; they don't serve chips with steak. F*cking savages, the lot of them.
