At that price, it would be worth flying over and driving back. A cheap and easy way into Maser ownership.

So it is........Great car...I'll give him 7500 for it. Although wasn't it a CAT C ?....If so not mentioned in the advert...

IIRC it was sold about 16 months ago and the new owner drove it down to Spain via the ferry from Southampton

As a CAT is it worth much more than 8k....Low miles or not....???....... I think I could get 7k for mine so another £500 wouldn't break the bank......Just the running costs puts me off....Although I have spent a fare bit on the M3 this year.

He is saying that he nows what its worth and will not give it away so probably wants more than 8k....but without a reserve it no one bids it could go for £7500 ........ Bet it will not though.....A bit naughty not mentioning the CAT bit though....

Could be a bargain though for someone....

Very naughty not declaring CAT car, but, any serious bidder should do a HPI check anyway.
You would have to trailer it home, certainly as soon as you enter the UK, with no MOT, unless you have one booked as soon as you enter the UK at a local MOT testing station.

It was a great car when Loz had it and those GS bits make it even more desirable but you can not get away from the fact its a CAT car and a 2002 model which in itself is hard to shift these days....Remember Dicky saying that 2002 early 4200's are not loved in the trade and buggers to sell.....I think his words were along the lines of all most unsellable.....

This one really does need to be the right price.

Even as a Cat C if it's been repaired properly it must be a bargain at this price, depends what the price in his head is.

A long way to go just to have a look though

There are good and bad all model years, certainly a few later models I saw before purchase where real dogs, almost put me off the marque altogether!
There are going to be more bad ones the earlier the model year due to mileage, age, storage conditions etc.
I put mine firmly in the remaining 'sellable' group.
Long live the classico!

Please don't think I'm having a go at 2002 owners cars they are still a lovely car just harder to shift....

There isn't many low mileage/cherished/good condition/well maintained (as applicable) ones left, so generally they will be harder to sell.
It is also a testament that they can be used too!

Am I right in thinking that when it is imported back into the UK it will be issued a new plate and the Cat marker will not show up?

Actually it appears the car has not been Spanish registered, shame, maybe ask him too prior to collection?

What suprised me over here is that you don't have to declare its a CAT car.......We had a Rover and it wasn't registered on the Log Book as the owner didn't delare it and when I looked into it the DVLA said it was not illegal.......The said it would be resorded on the registered and a check would be needed to show it up but the owner would not have to get it put on the log book. So a check needed......
