Hi all. I'm on the look out for a 4200. Need another v8 in my life. Does anyone know anything about this one?

Is it still expensive to change the clutch on the manuals?
I've seen it, and driven it . I didnt buy it !
To be fair, I think it has been mostly quite well cared for. There is a reasonable history with the car.
I thought it drove well. Better than the car I landed in the end but that's a slightly misleading observation... As I said, it drove well, and the engine felt strong & responsive...It did have engine noise...a "tick". Im not going to guess at what it was here...
The gear change mechanism needed attention but this is to be expected, and something you will quickly learn when you own a lovely manual car !!
It has problems beyond this though..! Enough to scare me off Im afraid !
I dont know that I should be pillorying somebody's sale really but anyway; the glazing seals are bad on both the front and rear screens. .It leaks basically! There something a bit mickey mouse about the nearside rearview mirror unit and it's attachment to the car too.. and an attempt at repair is not too pretty...!
Additionally, it chucked it down in an "April shower" stylee whilst I test drove the car...within seconds I had to lower the drivers window to see where I was going, the screen was so misted up...Id guess the heater matrix is also leaking. This is a dash out and major works deal. That said, they all fail after 15 years anyway, so there's that !
I'm not a fan of tan, cream or white leather...I thought I wanted a car with sober paint and black leather...I got one with red leather, and to my surprise, I love it. The Alfieri grey and black interior is rather underwhelming as it turns out...A matter of personal taste though, granted !
Overall, the car is great except for those rather large elephants in the cabin !
For my money, as a newbie forum member, new to cars and especially, Maseratis, my advice would be to go for a car the forum can recommend...
Maserati Dealers dont tend to punt older cars...Your average forecourt dont really know what they are, and less, how much they are actually worth. ( They were asking £13,995 )
A car that comes recommended by Marios & Grace Cars, with 34K miles on it would be a good place to start. Even if it is only to find out what your up against..condition and price wise...!
HTH!
Grtzz...!
