Not a battery charger? On the Golf when it won't fire as the battery just hasn't got enough in it, it will revive it and I alway keep it on pulsing it. I have had these on loads of cars which don't have enough to crank but are low and it always revives them back to full charge (green light condition).

Maybe I didn't leave the Lidl one on charge long enough. The Halfords one must do a must faster charge although it adjusts accordingly so as not to damage the battery. I guess the Lidl one has a fixed rate of charging.....low and slow. The Halfords one I think does an initial partial fast charge then slows down so as not to overheat the cells I guess.

I always admit when I'm wrong and this was one of the very rare occasions :)
