Interesting, the reason I am think x pipe is to up the exhaust frequency but straight pipes would be a far simpler execution

Here is a pic of mine when I got it.

You can see the actual cat material so all that was done was this silencer was cut out and pipes welded in place to make it straight through.

Blimey Phil, a proper lace doily! That had had many welds previously... What was that about polishing a turd? Don't blame you for doing away with it, I don't imagine it took much removing!

Lol it fell off! To be fair I lent it to my mate and he called me up saying does it normally sound like the exhaust has a hole in it :D I said no take it to my mechanic and have him fix it!

And the mad thing is the back boxes are mint!!!

Phil, I have to say it looks so beaten up, I'd put money on it having been bounced down the road. I think you gave it a blessed release from it's suffering :)

Got to love these cars. I took the 3200 out today over to the Mrs Sisters and her 21 year old lad was in, I let him have a blast in it and he had it in sport mode, wet road sideways into second with wheel spin into third and a big grin on his face. He works for BMW and drives some nice cars but he loved the old feel and the punch in the back from the twins :D

That's very interesting, looks like is was wrong about that centre box being a cat. And it looks like both pipes feed into a common chamber too. Mi wonder if it will effect the emissions for MOT time?

Yep there are pre-cats on the downpipes and then a secondary centre cat/silencer. Got to be good for a good few horses mate? :D

Doubt it as I know the tester.....

I think next step is to find a full Larini and have that fitted. Then could be good for 420bhp....

Don't forget to tell your insurance company if you do any mods from the standard spec, there getting strict....

If you try and blag e'm and then have a big one they won't pay out,you could lose everything!

"Punch in the back from the Twins" reckon you ought to copywrite that phrase!

Perfect!
