Yes Dem as long as they have been serviced well and looked after.......Thing is you 6k would be much safer there as when you come to sell in a year or two you would probably still get your 6k back. Plus a Porsche at 100k miles is just getting started.

Is the boxster still hewn form granite - like the old 911?
Buy a good one and you should be okay, but these new water cooled engines are not unburstable, esp early smaller units. FSH essential
Buy a bad one and brakes, suspension, wheels etc are still a few bob.

Same as any used car ... Buy on condition and history and you should be OK ...

Thing is Dem the Boxster is not a pretty car ... It has love ar hate it styling so could see why she would like the cute MX5 instead....Thing is she needs to drive one as there is not a better roadster for the money. I think I may get one especialy now its winter and prices are low....

I was thinking about one of these but was under the impression that serviving was quite expensive, and some consumables very expensive. So I had a quick look on the net and found respected porker specialists Autofarm who will service one for £300 which sounded reasonable. Until I saw that that is for an oil & filter, pollen filter, fault code dump and "visual inspection" !!!! Can't see that taking more than an hour really?

Anyway, I couldn't find any of the horror stories I once heard (Brake corroson I seem to recall being a big issue) so maybe just teething probs.

i know a guy that if i get it he can service them for cheap!!

they for me are run it to the ground cars as in when you sell them dont matter about full indy history as they are 5k anyway....

aslong as when i have it i know its been serviced by a garage i dont mind selling this car on later for a loss....

Servicing doesn't have to be much on these ... Find a good specialist and it can be rather good...To be honest even POrsche ain't that back for these when I looked.

Dem keep me posted on this ... I take it for 5k/6k you'll be going for a 2.5 or higher lieage 2.7.....

I wouldn't worry about miles to be honest ... Condition and history ...these cars will go on for years to be honest as long as they are well looked after. But I would try both as you may find the 2.5 ain't far off the 2.7........Either way you get a beautifully balanced sports car...2.5 or 2.7.....

i wont care about indys.....my guy can service the car for almost nothin as long as i get the parts...

when selling, ill sell with the history i got with the car and receipts of the parts...they not worth big money so no point paying it in indy servicing...

....love the question and answer......................

"Hello, Automatic or manual? tank you
A: Manual, thats why, as mentioned in the listing, it has just had a new clutch fitted....".

Seems good value and lots done...fingers crossed if you go for the Porsche!

we went on the test drive today...

we drove a 2006 mx5 and 1999 2.5 boxster....

mazda had 32k with all the options and £7k.. boxster 85k full history £6k

after she drove the boxster she wanted it..i thought brilliant but she still wanted to go to the mazda seller....

well what can i say she went for the mazda as she wanted it to be newer and felt that it wont break down on her...

i tried but there was no moving it....i got the mx5 down to 6k so wasnt bad....

i let us down as the boxster was not the best out there and it did rattle a little bit and the leather was ripped which he never told me but at 6k asking price i still felt its worth it.....
next time for me.....
