My renewal has just come back from Aplan and its £370, did a comparison site and go Quote me happy for about £350. Added the wife, £317....shshhh don't tell her she is legal to drive it!

OK
Just renewed my policy with Direct Line - the cheapest quote, no Cashback unfortunately but still the cheapest
£272.80 (it was £219.00 last year)
It would have been lower still had I named my wife on the policy - around £250, but I cannot do that.

I have to do it all again now for my Renault! (Admiral Multicar or any other company) was not as good as 2 individual quotes.
Save that joy for tomorrow!!

My wife is on mine for that reason only! Smaller premiums!

My wife only has a licence for driving autos. But she's insured on my manual cars as well. Strange they make me do that for the better premium! How can insuring someone on a car they can't legally (or physically) drive lower the premium?!?

I don't get this either and had the same with my wife before I had the current policy. She was insured to drive 2 of my cars she never and would never ever drive drive but it reduced the premium by a considerable amount. She never even went in either car as a passenger either. How does that lower the premium or risk. Bonkers
