Am getting within a few weeks of renewing......decided to look around again, believing the hype from the press that costs have soared this year to find, actually they've gone a up just few pounds so far......:)..........( have stuck in the quotes I've obtained so far )

This is the main link I use to shop around -

http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/compare-cheap-car-insurance

Here are the links in order of combining total insurers in the market -

http://www.moneysupermarket.com/ click on motoring insurance ( £641 on this site ...with my current insurer)

http://www.gocompare.com/car-insurance/default.aspx?Media=SC0012 £731 with this site ( same insurer as I have now).....also £90 more with my current insurer!!!

By combining the top two(above) for 153 providers, that's 72% of the full search

NOT included in the above main comparator sites are the two single biggest insurers below -

http://www.aviva.co.uk/aff/car-insurance/?source=MSE1&entry=99012&CMP=BAL-NUD_AFF N Ireland not quoted for....:(

http://www.directline.com/motor/welcome.htm?cmpid=/000/car/aff ( £2,482....ooopppsssss!)

Then the site goes on to recommend "cashback" sites.....( not used these myself, anyone any experience?)...which brings the running total up to 84% of the total insurers listed.

Then finally to bring you up to 100% coverage( their claim).....try try the remainder sites.....

http://www.quotezone.co.uk/car-insurance.htm?utm_medium=quotezone_affiliate £721 with this site ( same insurer as I have now).....also £80 more with my current insurer!!!

https://www.confused.com/car-insurance?mediacode=212 £640 on this site ...with my current insurer...THE WINNER....ok....by just a £1....:)......!!!!!

http://www.comparethemarket.com/car-insurance/£729 with this site ( same insurer as I have now).....also £70 more with my current insurer!!!

http://www.tescocompare.com/car.shtml£849 with this site ( AA).....£200 more with my current insurer!!!

http://www.uswitch.com/car-insurance/ ran out of steam........lol........

I think guys have gotten quotes off more specialist insurers such as the link on the sponsors section......

http://www.aplan.co.uk/

Hopefully this lot of links are of use and everyone can save a few bob, or indeed pay a bit more and get exactly what they need.

No doubt Simon there are other specialists more suitable for some owners that I've missed out or don't know of, but it gives you an idea of how well spent and hour plus on the comp can be....customer is king.......sorta!

PS Hope you got those pants changed!

Ps We have a great partner for insurance (claims to have underwritten 80% of our proposals - so must be quoting somebody happy!)

Nope..

http://www.supercarhub.com/Request-Insurance-Quote.aspx

This was the conversation I had yesterday with Bridle (regrettably NW B haven't been able to close as many, due to underwritter restrictions)

The good thing about our site is that once you become a registered member, we can prompt you when your insurance falls due a month before and as you have your car detail already loaded, there are just a couple of more clicks away to get a fast quote back - your little reminder system if you like.

At the moment we are just testing some new functioanlity for your servicing - we can bring the latest prices into your account box for your annual service. Or you can select' Last min serv req' and get the dealers quote you - and the good news is, all the prices come back to you anonymously so you wont be chased up by dealers, they are only aware of make, model, service required and *distance from owner (for calculating collection if not free). Lots of exciting enhancements coming on board. Just not enough hours to write all these progorammes and get to the dealers as well ....lol

Hi Ghosty, we haven't broken into Alfa as yet for servicing... we have only been trading for 11 months our backgorund was ferrari, maserati, lambo and Porsche servicing. So bear with us, I can see your registration dets. I Have emailed you, lets take a look and see what we can do. Obviously insurance isn't marque or model restrictive, our partners will look to all performance and prestige requirements.

£560 for me from MWA brokers, actually then CCI with 5 free track days! Mid 40's garaged good postcode no accidents etc.
Not bad I thought, with no, no claims discount due to a couple of classic car policies before not incurring any bonus.
My 4200 will be 10 years old at renewal, so I will most like put it on a classic policy, hopefully cheaper.

Made this a sticky as there are 20 pages of insurance queries, perhaps if we can just add to this thread, recommended companies or annual renewal quotes, giving a few details on a template style post ie -

Car details-
Location ( first part of post code?) -
Age of main driver -
Usage/miles -
NCB available -
Quote amount -
