Have a 4200cc and have noticed that on the drivers side rear window the rubber seal has started to lift off. seen the price as it seems you need a new window, has anyone bonded it down

can't believe its not just replace the seal.

Unfortunately the only way you can repair this is by replacing the rear window .
This is a fault that happens when cars are parked outside in Snow and Ice .

Can you remove the rear window and reseal it back down without buying a new complete rear window? Thinking about anybody having a respray for example?

I know that they do this kind of stuff in China, making their home made seal. I have seen it before and it doesn't look too neat but it works. t don't know if there are shop doing this in Europe though, I hope you'll find one.

It's maybe a very stupid idea but I know that this is also done on boat windshields and custom seals or at least repairs are quite common, and this is done for sure in Europe. You could try to explore this path if you have boating shops not too far from where you live. It won't look nearly as clean as an oem sealant though but it probably depends on the skill of the guy doing it.

might be going to try that or may be bond it, does seem a bit stupid you need to pay £1700 for a window just to replace a seal. must be an Italian thing.

Indeed. I have exactly that issue. I have some tiny rust bubbles around the edge of the rear window.

I viewed allot of these cars recently, and most of them if not all of them suffered this problem, one of the owners, who had his for about 6 years and a forum member said his did this everytime the weather was colder, and once it got warmer it went back to its original shape. So if its not leaking then i would either leave it, or if its more a visual thing i would bond the seal down.
