Grand Sport Width

Hi Guys,

I have googled the width of a GS and got a figure of 1822mm, (I take it 4200 is same)

Does that include the wing mirrors - if not I have a garage problem as my door is 2m.

Just had a quick measure - I think I will need a big shed to empty the garage into.

Not too sure wife will let me store bikes in porch / house though.

According to the manual, no, 1822mm is wing to wing.

Be careful with garages, they bite....

In that case - Houston - "we have a problem" - I would have mm left with the mirrors folded in.

Perhaps I should have thought about this before I started thinking about a Maserati!!!!!

Poo!

You have 9 cm clearance either side. Note, it's not 1822 + wing mirrors, it's 1822 plus 'a bit' as the mirrors are not bolted to the wings. Hope that makes sense.

If you like I can measure my garage tomorrow?

Ah ok - If you would not mind - I would not care - the door installer had to infill the original garage opening to fit the door.

I was too tight to get a bespoke door to fit!

Oops.

I'll happily try. Feel free to pm me to remind me first thing. Sounds like you may well have an issue, though. :(

Looking at photos etc it does look like once the mirrors are folded then the rear wheel arches will be the widest point.

Happy to be corrected!

just got mine into the garage which has a width of 7ft 6 and had 4inches each side so it was mirrors in to go into the garage, then out to make sure both sides cleared

was a bit clenched.

My garages are 7' wide and I can get a GS/4200 in our out without folding the mirrors in.

2m is 6' 5" as far as I can see. SO that's 7" smaller than yours, Dicky (ooeer)

Gonna be snug, I feel

Looks like I am knackered then. Did you have mirrors out coming out with 4" either side.
7ft 6 is 229cm - 4"(10cm) = 209 cm which would give me a theoretical clearance of 4.5cm either side.

Poo - looks like a porsche to leave on the drive!!!!

it will come out with mirrors out, but didn't take the chance. does your garage have door jams, have found out if you change to roller doors the door can go behind the wall so the door jams can come out this will give you a couple of extra inches.

First thing we did when we bought our house, up and over doors changed to sectional doors.
Certainly gained maybe 4 inches on the width getting into the garage.

Ours is brand new and up and over - we did actually achieve a bit wider than the old as the door jams are narrower!

Going to have to go some head scratching - Dicky says his is 7ft and goes in and out without moving mirrors, so I may be okay with mirrors in.

The entrance is at a slight angle and the drive slopes from left to right.

What a mare - wonder if her indoors wants to move!
