Well done mcs, I note you have had a fair collection of bimmers, I recently got rid of an M5 Touring and it was great. What did you make of the M6? I had one too and loved it!

It's one of the issues with these sort of boxes. FWIW clutch life is meant to be far better on the GranTurismo than on the 4200. What clutch % remaining/miles did the car have at purchase?

It was 74% however I am now absolutely gutted and furious at the same time as after driving the car for around 30 mins an error message has appeared on the dash which says "check transmission go to dealer" and has a red gearbox as an error symbol. The car does not shift above 2nd gear now :(

Rang Nuvola who want the car to be towed in to be looked at Giallo Maserati on Monday so even though I have collected the car I will be unable to use it :(

Not a good start at all :battered:

The M6 was great - I had no issues with it at all! Owned it for 12 months and only spent a lot of fuel money on it and 2 rear tyres

I have a 645 which is pretty quick and doesn't feel much slower than my old E46 M3.... but would imagine the M6 is on a different level.....Looking at a QP next year but also an M5 and M6 on the list as they are great value 2nd hand for the performance you get......but....and its not often you can say this but from what I have read running costs for the QP would be cheaper than the V10 beasts....Great cars and great value.

Yes mcs, get a creek battery charger plugged in as these cars suffer badly when they have a weak battery/low charge. The sort of thing you describe could well have been battery related.

Any charger recommendations? Was easy in my DB9 as it had a hold in the boot to plug a charger in but with these it seems like the chargers need to be clipped in to the battery terminal in the underfloor of the boot - is that correct? Bit of a hassle of so!

Thank you Andy. When I saw the car it had black wheels, chrome strips on windows and the boot and chrome door handles. Did not cut it with me so had them all redone in body colour paint. Also had the wheels redone in Anthracite and so bloody glad I did as it's now the look I always wanted in a maser. Not sure why they leave the factory with so mich chrome in the first place!

Looks great...I like the black and Anthracite wheels........Look great either way but I get that some wouldn't like all that black.......So do you get the chrome painted...I know some just get the window surround wrapped..costs about £150....

Yes it was all painted not wrapped. Was all done as part of the deal with Nuvola. Ive done this wrapping mallarky on my Audi q7 and it does not last and starts to age very soon. Would never treat my Italian baby to such treatment ;-)

My iphone corrected the recommendation mate! C-TEK is the one. Here is a link to a model which is used by alot of owners.

They need to be clipped onto the terminal posts but there are some very easy mods that can be done to make the charger very neat and easily accessible.

Looks great. But I like the chrome around the windows... I must be getting old! :) I think you should get the side vents de-chromed as well to match?

Agree about the anthracite wheels. Black on black looks a bit too drug dealer... and gloss black wheels are a PITA to keep clean.

Thats's what makes the world a more interesting place :) we are all different indeed. I kept the side vents chrome as they are the trademark Maserati identification so wanted them to stand out - was deliberate :D

I just had this fitted today - the orange light is flashing all the time - should this be? Or should it be a constant yellow light? The literature within the product does not mention it should be flashing...

Connection with failed parking lights?

My CTEK is not as fancy as this with a connector with no lights hard wired to the battery. I then plug in the lead attached to the unit itself when I use the charger. The charger does have the three lights in question FWIW.
