From what I understand the Pilot Sport S5 is the replacement for the PS 4S and is a much more advanced tyre in the uuhp segment however it is OE only at present and not aftermarket till next year. Also not available in smaller sizes like 18 inch.
Spoke to Chris Harris at the Car and Coffee Bicester at the weekend regarding the pilot sport cup 2 tyres on his 911 gt3 RS who said they were perfectly manageable in the UK providing you don’t take the p**s in the wet. But then he’s a racing driver and I’m not. He then said the PS4S was a better all round product.

The 4S still seems to hold its own in tire tests combining wet and dry weather grip with good feel and low tyre wear. Amazing considering how old the design is. The competition has caught up but it’s still a great tyre overall. Once the 5S or S5 comes into non OE supply it will be interesting to see how it moved the game on but I’ll be sticking with 4S when my Pzeros on the GT need replacement. I have 4S on my 911, and wife’s Cupra 300 and have had them on other cars such as V8 M3 for years and my favourite aspect is the wet weather confidence in all cars.

Well I just put 4S on the rear of the Strad after they went hard (6 years old) they were down to 3.5mm but definitely past their best…spun up loads and a waggle tail.

So based on that the switch to S5 can wait, I have a good few years yet….the tyres, not me ;)

I recently put Bridgestone Potenza Sports on my Strad. They get decent reviews and are good value for money compared to Michelin PS4s. The only downside is wear which isn't an issue for me as I only do low mileage and definitely no track days. Also, they are the OEM tyres for the MC20:

how many miles in that six years?
looks like half millimetre wear per year. Maybe you have room for a few more lairy events to use up the tread before it goes stiff.

Cup 2s on the Assetto Corsa. Suits the car type and more akin to how it left the factory. 4s seem to be the all rounder of choice though.

I have S4S on the Gransport, very happy with them.

However, on my daily driver jag I went for P Zero PZ4 over the S4S, why? PZ4 is more of less equal to the Michelin in tests, but much quieter 70db vs 73db road noise in these sizes, the PZero has a foam noise suppressor ring inside or something. Counts for a lot on longer journeys with big noisy 22” rims.

just reminded me - I have set of cup tyres in the garage waiting for my own Asseto Corsa to be resurrected.
