Disagree with Ferrari being a sportscar manufacturer solely, For the last few years they have balanced their sportscar offerings (355, 360, 430) with a range of more expensive V12 GTs. My guess though is that this is about to end and they will move to V8 GTs or they will just blur the difference with a 4200 style GT.

I said "To me, Ferrari make sports cars, Maserati make GTs so I would go GT-S over 612", not that they are solely a sports car manufacturer! If I think Ferrari, I think sports and racing, if I think Maserati, I think GT. Ferrari do make some phenomenal and desirable V12 GTs of course, but I think their business is sports cars. Perfect combo is the 550/575 for me, last manual Ferrari GT I think, don't think the 599/612/Cali have a manual option?

No your right Lewis, you can not have a manual on a 599 and a Cali but you could get a Manual on a 612 produced between 2004-2005. in 2004, only 7 manual 612's were imported. The F430 was the last Ferrari to be offered with a manual gearbox.

well, i dont think it is, from what i have heard when i worked at the ferrari specialst, the 612 didn't suit a manual, hence the fact not many were sold.

Fair enough Adam - but they said the same about a DB9! Most people just plod about in full auto mode, the manual brings it to life! I'd love to drive one, one day...

If you can find one Lewis...There was a red on on PH a month or so agao and saw a silver one last year but as Adam has said pretty rare...Saying that you manage to hunt down a man DB9 so if anyone can do it you can.

Took a year of searching every DB9 on Pistonheads/Autotrader at least once a week to find a 9 Volante manual! So they do come up, there were in fact two that week! One sold up north for £70k as it was grey, my Chiltern green car is quite undesirable, more an enthusiasts colour than a 007 wannabee colour.

If I go Fezza, it'd probably be a Spyder anyway; 360 or 430, see what the dreaded Inland Revenue leave me with!
