Just read the 612 and GT S bit in Autocar.......HAVE YOU SEEN THE SERVICE COSTS OF A 612...........Just stupid money.

...............BUT.......its the off the cliff depreciation AndyK...that gets most of us!!!

He had a minor service plus disc and pads...£7000....Bent one wheel £1400 to replace......Front end respray due to stone chips £6500..........And they need a service every 6k while the GT S is every 12k.......The 612 is a very very very expensive car by the sound of things.

Maybe reflected in the 220K original asking price......all else go up exponentially.......................

See Frank never got that......Thats just a rip off....Just because they cost alot a service is a service no matter what you drive.....

They will argue.....limited sales, cost of one off tooling, small run parts costs, ultra expensive kit required for servicing, training, plus knowing after 3 yrs everyone goes indie......profit diminishing rapidly....need to maximise profit somehow!

Hmmmm...something wrong there...
minor service on a V12 (612) you can get for about £1150 (check out indy prices)...plus disks and pads...are they the carbon ceramic ones?
front end respray...sure you can pay £6500, but you can also get a proper job done for a third of that or even much less
ok, service every 6k is what it is....

Totally agree...Seen service prices in these magazines many a time for cars I've owned and they have been a load of rubbish...

Think I would plump for the GT-S over the 612, as you get the balance of the warranty with any purchase.

Disagree with Ferrari being a sportscar manufacturer solely, For the last few years they have balanced their sportscar offerings (355, 360, 430) with a range of more expensive V12 GTs. My guess though is that this is about to end and they will move to V8 GTs or they will just blur the difference with a 4200 style GT.

I am going to HR Owen soon and will ask them for service costs. I cannot believe they would be anything like that silly money but lets wait and see. I need to drive both
