F1 utter cr4p

F1 has, somewhat like Premier League football, become more of an 'event' than a competition. People want to go to the racing more for the circuit, the fanfare, etc. and the racing is now incidental. I did a VIP package to the Austin F1 a couple of seasons ago, had a great time, but I don't even remember who won!

I'm not into bikes, but I watch the MotoGP now rather than F1. It's much better racing. The media packaging is pretty poor (both on TV and on the web), but it really is a spectacle.

The problem with sport as a business is that it becomes run by CEOs; Football, Blatter, the Olympics (was) Samaranche and F1 Ecclestone. These guys run it for their own benefit and, in trying to screw every last cent out of it, ruin it for everyone else, especially those made redundant when their teams 'went under' due to the incompetent governance of Ecclestone. He is nothing more than a greedy dwarf who is way past his expiry date.

It's been said many times before, but you have to question the morals and ethics of sports (and sportsmen/women) that will happily compete in countries whose human rights are questionable.

I wonder what kind of chat Lewis and the other podium finishers had with Putin last season when he came in to congratulate them? It would have been notably awkward if Ricciardo had finished in the Top 3.

And no doubt the England team will happily go to the 2018 and 2022 World Cups to 'fly the flag'. I think over 1000 migrant workers have now died in Qatar whilst building the stadia. Sickening.

Just read on a german website there will be after all no F1 this year in Germany. The Nurburgring did not come to an agreement with the Dwarf.
