If you have fully comp insurance you can claim for accidental damage to your car , which this was, it's just whether the amount it'll cost to fix is worth the extra premium and loss of NCB

Mark, looking at this picture though it looks to be much further back, being closer to the steering box. If it is the radiator it would tend to congregate on the under tray so you would see it if you shine a torch down either side of the radiator. Assuming your under tray is fitted it extends from the front splitter to roughly in line with the aux belt.

The puddle above would be consistent with spillage from you refilling the system.

The puddle there must have been from me topping up.

Tonight the water was dripping off the under tray. Which would indicate the radiator.

I'll give Felice a call on Monday and see when he can fit me in.

Had this on my 32 and the rad change was a real task but one you could tackle yourself with a guide as per this forum. I'd imagine there is a guide for the 4200 too.

Hmm... You can do it yourself, it is a pain to do though, you need to get the front well elevated, drop the tray, remove the fan plate complete, out under the car (hence the need to elevate it so high) then set about removing the rad, hoses first then free the radiators (multiple), free the cowling, separate the radiators, remember to remove half of Thetford forest from between them! and eventually drop the main one out of the bottom. At the very least you need to remove the grille but I removed the whole bumper as I had a list of jobs to do while I was there.

The radiator main bolts will likely snap, the cowling (tiny) bolts will crumble and the tray fairing clips will mostly disintegrate; it is a pleasure when it is all back together though.

I'll get Felice to do it for me!

He can fit my H pipe when I get it whilst the car is up in the air!

Might Get him to do a service whilst he's got it.

Chris, I'm booked in for next Monday morning.

Shall I let Felice know that he might have a different beast to look at soon?

Think I've got the Punto. Last time I had it it had a massive flat spot at about 3,000 revs. Not ideal for pulling out of side roads!!!!
