Do people on the continent see 100000km...

One thing I'm finding is all models worth a lot more here than in the UK.
Pourquoi, que tu pense?

I'd have thought that the prices would be lower because of the wider European LHD market and the supply of cars be greater. You yourself bought from Belgium, whereas we in the UK are limited in RHD cars in Europe, maybe Ieland, Cyprus and Malta possibly Japan...but far lower than the continent.

I think we're missing the point of the original query?
Do European buyers see the 100000km mark as the massive issue that we (tend) to see it as over here. We all know that a car with of 50k on it is worth nothing.

Certainly the presence of (what feels like more) high milers might indicate not.

We seem to have an odd hangup on mike's in the UK and not sure why. I have no problem with miles and bought an XC90 V8 with I think 170m miles on I took to 192k from memory. Wasn't a new car but was perfectly fine to drive and run for a few years.

I reckon the 5.0 V8 SC lump that is in the XJ would do a ton of miles with little issues. Great engine and gearbox combo.

I guess the main issue is growth and profits of manufacture's would seriously be affected if we all kept cars for years and several 100k's of miles. I'd have no issue with it though and to sweat the assets for a long time.

It is often applauded and seen as a positive with some marques in some parts of the world. Like Mercs and Volvo's with starship miles. I'm sure a W124 would do a million miles pretty easily with good servicing and maintenance. Built well those things. The same with the previous gen XC90 in fact.

Used to see a quite a few 2/3 year old E-Class Merc with in excess of 100k ..but they were Taxis and still in very good nick, any bumps or scratches ot interior faults were rectified as Germans demand to be driven in comfort not reeking of an ashtray. So if this were to go by then no, 100k is nothing.

Over 100k miles, with several BMW 320d Tourings I had for work, started to have issues.
Brake calipers seizing, dampers seizing, engine pullies falling off, timing chains snapping (RIP in that case). All fully serviced and maintained by BMW.
With my own M140i fast approaching 70K I'm deliberating whether I should change. Certainly no intention of cancelling the extended warranty with BMW, but that is an expense that could go towards a new or newer car for several years.

Not so at all. U.K. by far the cheapest for anything 5 years or older. When I bought my LHD GT, equivalent cars were 10-15K more expensive in Germany.

ssh - don't tell peeps, "high mileage" cars with 60k-75k on them - far less competition to buy and let's keep it that way!

Which is more impressive as it's on a island...wait, are there other taxis on the island?
HaHa, yes, loads.
A couple of mercs I went in were over 400k too. But when you think about it the Skoda on 642k only equates to about 40000miles/year.
Lots of people do that in the uk I guess, they just don’t do it in the same car for 10 years!
