Hi,

Sorry to resurrect this thread but this arrived in the post this morning.

Question is have I managed to get my hands on the correct part to update my GS Spyder to cruise control?

Yes, not bothered about not having it just wondered why they didn't slap it on as standard....

Apparently that was the idea but realised we would pay more to have it 'fitted'. I believe it was standard in North America.

Exactly what I and most others have thought, it does seem a bit daft that it was an option on this price of car..!!

I guess some wouldn't want it on a sporting (not sports) car...some on here have sneered at the thought of CC in a Maserati coupé. Personally I use it both for cruising at 100 on the motorway and staying at 50 in the average speed camera zones.

That's what I could use it for, in the 50 zones, trying to keep our latin lovers at 50 mph for a distance is not that easy, so any help is welcome..!!

But as always there is a way; I plan on fitting it to mine at some point... It's just a matter of interoretting the signals and using them to your benefit (just like speaking to the females if iur species). You just need to add a clutch and brake switch (although I suspect you can sneak the signal from the brakes too) and viola cruise control...

If you think this is a rip off...the sat nav on the 4200 is just a £4.99 GPS antenna and the softwear on the NIT...Maserati charge over a grand for the privilege of using thier ancient system.

Well being fitted next Thursday so hopefully all will go smoothly :) and hopefully being brand new there will be no issues with the indicators cancelling etc.,..

TGCR, where did you pick it up, is it new, or used..??

Hey Rob!

I got cc fitted to my 4200 a couple of years ago.

New unit from Bill McGrath. They periodically had a few come into stock. Not sure if they still do.
I just checked their site periodically.

Really handy in the roadworks and for taking a rest on the French toll roads.

Btw its the same unit as a 166 so maybe a breakers?

Hi Robert,

It is new. Came from a 'weird' (for example taken a month from order to delivery) source allegedly from Valeo, once it is fitted and I can confirm it works will happily share the source.

Wouldn't bother there are far better mods to be done IMO.

I started this thread and I wouldn't be without it. I use it a lot on motorways and it comes in very handy through the average speed cameras. A really, really good modification.
