Never been a fan of the ragtop unlike your coupe, has it arrived yet?
Yep. It’s currently near Cirencester being recommissioned. It has not been started for 13 years, so it’s having the fuel system replaced (new lines, pump, etc) and the injection system rebuilt. Then all sorts of other jobs such as brake calliper rebuild, new tyres, full service…
Probably a few weeks away from actually driving it.
And still waiting on the DVLA registering it, as it can’t go on the road until then.

Lucky enough to own two those and both I wish I had kept…M3 CSL was the best car I have ever own and the E30 M3 was also brilliant. Although mine was an EVO 11 not Sport Evolution. I bet that M3 Evolution will be well over £100k if not over 150k.

Strike that as just seen the expectation 150k to 200k.

My first Diablo was a black VT, the same as this one. Just fabulous. Unfortunately the chap I sold it to wrapped it around a tree one rainy day (he was fine, thankfully). They were a lot cheaper back then. I think I paid about £55k for it - a bargain, even back then.

Better update your spreadsheet so you can try and get a normalisation taking account of hours of operation!
Eb

Don't know where I would get the data for that. We should normalise (definition 4, not 2) the recording and reporting of 'car hours'. Surely 'hours switched on' is held somewhere in the memory of most modern cars.

Arguably they're still comparative bargain compared to other stuff of the time.

My brother and I went to buy one from Top Gear Cars - it was an early pre-Audi car - they wanted £52k for it in 2010 - but we could not fit at all, being 6'4" and 6'5" respectively. Stil love them, but up close and personal, the build quality was similar to a 1970s Lada...

Friend of mine had a black Diablo which he wrapped round a tree!
He then bought an orange 6.0 VT which he still has.

Quite a coincidence, as I then bought a yellow 6.0 lt. VT. Sadly I no longer have it. Awesome car, but a bit wide for the narrow country lanes where I now live.

Be interesting to see what this goes for today:

I’ve a manual AC being prepped at present which is as good as they get. This one is auto, and it’s brave to buy a 22 year old 3200 in an auction.

Yes, indeed. I think it will attract bids but I don't think it'll sell unless it's being offered without reserve. It was for sale privately for about £25k just over a year ago (when I bought my 3200 GTA) and then it didn't hit reserve when The Market auctioned it a few months ago. Anyway, be interesting to see your manual AC in due course ....

Ah ok, I see it reached £15k plus £900 fees but was unsold. That is surely about the maximum it would attain at the auction today being an auto; unless two folk in the room are loaded up on free Pimms.

Mine has had extensive works, basically a rolling restoration, repaint etc in 2019, and has done 5k faultless miles since. Also being one of only 2-3 good manuals that have come to market in the last 12 years or so means it’s far more desirable to most buyers.
