Can't believe I'm making the first step to owning a Maserati

Personally I don't mind the wood as it sort of has a warm feel to it but there a many that wouldn't want it........May be a compromise for you but it has the later wheels which would cost a fortune to add, a 4.7 exhaust which should sound amazing and that is not cheap either.....At 35k it now looks like a very good car for the money from a good dealer and 35k is the starting point so you may get a bit more off.....Must be worth a look....

Oh it's definitely a consideration. At my end of the budget there will almost certainly have to be a compromise however is it really a compromise - I'll be a GT owner after all! It's on the list and open to suggestions of others out there. Appreciate the help.

Just been having a look at it on their web site.....They still have it up for 39995 on there. It looks lovely...shame there isn't more details about it in the description rather than telling you the history of the GT....but they do tend to advertise most like that.

Looks like they don't give much away or nothing away for that matter. The goon to phone up I guess. To be honest the pics sell it enough. It's definitely 35k on PH. Out of interest the 4.7 wheels, how much do they typically cost? I'm guessing from what you say they're not your typical wheel and therefore price

Agree with all of this, it does indeed warrant a good look

Think they are about 2k a set without tyres...There is a single wheel for sale on ebay without a tyre for £465.....

Wow, ok.

There's also this one out there but it's been for sale for some time now and just wondering why it's not sold. On paper it looks good though today found out the engine number is within the range where there could be an issue. Richard is incredibly helpful.

Check the engine number and if it is less than 148697 then verify the modification has been done. This was a known problem but not a recall for the earlier engines. Mine is one of those and the fix has been done and i have added 20K miles since so it is not a deal breaker. Cost was below £1500

Is it a fault that applies to all engines with number < 148697? My GT has now 35k on the clock... does it mean I am walking into this problem in a few K-miles?

Can the "cheap" £1500 fix be done after the symptoms start to appear, or does it have to be done before?

Richard is very well respected and may have been said on thread already will give you great advice....If you buy from Richard you will have yourself a great car....A number of members have bought great cars from him. Maserati's have always been slow selling cars.....There are not a loads of buyers out there and they just take a little longer to sell sometimes so don't be put off by a car that seems to have been for sale for some time especially if its from a respected dealer....
