Or I could charge a surcharge for anyone that dares to ride with me..!! The Zen option is a great idea..!!

Here's a picture of Adrian's brakes. They don't look too bad to me! Interesting to see the AMG's discs are dimpled rather than drilled.

Video with speed and G-force overlay. I'd hoped to follow Blu on this one but he didn't have the time (or, I suppose, inclination) to stop when the marshall tried to hold us up.

I've been sodding around a bit more with iMovie and Vidometer (quite an interesting app - worth a free download) and have overlaid one with t'other. You can see from the way the speed overlay builds that the accuracy is delayed, but I think overall it's moderately close. iirc my top speed on this lap was 147 but the max speed shown with Vidometer was (for a split second) 144 before I jumped on the brakes. Syncing the starts times was hard so there may also be a slight lag.

Just can't keep it on the track, can you, Adam?

Impressive saw 1.0 on the g Meter at the chicane. Can we fit to one of the SZ'z and see it do the fabled trick? :)

How did you do the overlay, Adam? Did you run the app at the same time as the GoPro? I have much to learn!!

I started the two recordings at about the same time and then lined them up in iMovie afterwards. Vidometer also does video but only from the iPhone camera so not good quality. What I also learned is that vidometer doesn't time stamp the video so you need you remember which vidometer segment lines up with which video segment.

Also learning as I go. Probably there are more elegant ways to knock the video together but it's adequately ok for my interests. A more Datsun GTR level of videoing and g-force measuring can run to stacks of £s so some back-room cobbling of GoPro video and Vidometer stats seems a sensible compromise.

That's a pretty cool app to run alongside, gives some really useful insights into the technique....

Assumes accuracy of the iPhone accelerometer. May be less. Or more, I suppose!

It's gonna be tricky to get much higher without some serious down force.

I guess you could calibrate the g meter very simply (actually stunningly simple now I think about it).
For this experiment you will need:
1) An iPhone
2) A ladder (longer will make the results more accurate, although increase the risk)
4) Some g-tracking software
5) A soft landing area (this is important)

How you use these are left as an exercise for the student ;)

My (family) experience of iPhones is not a happy one, they tend not to survive a drop from 3 feet let alone terminal velocity.... That said I've had mine for 3 years now in a Griffin Survivor case and the phone has not a single scratch! A well worthwhile investment, just not good looking (unlike me)...

I've broken one. It was in a (very rare) shirt pocket when I bent down to pick something up from the patio.

A lap with Adrian (you can see how his tyres and brakes wear out!) No idea who the bloke in the grey Maser holding him up was! A great video with a screamer!

Top man Adrian!!
Please pass on our thank Maf, Brunty wouldn't be the same behind him!
Cheers Blu

I will second that as I went to LeMans in his 360 and have been on track with him in his Taxi.

A different Adrian, Phil. This one is known as Adrian to everyone! He's a mate of mine who's a huge petrol head and runs a C63 AMG coupe as a daily.
