I still think we should all meet at an allotted time for introductions at these functions. Eg gather at this point at 10am for 30 minutes. Then you always have the option of spotting the rabble at a distance and heading off in a different direction.

I also think @Harry (lovely to see you by the way, albeit briefly) has a really good idea with the organised 'meet and greet' moment at these events. Helen we know, Alan and Tony, met Mark and David for the first time. Plus I have the worst memory in the world for names. Really shocking! Luckily Mrs GP is much better at that than I am
