A Step Closer to My Masser

I had my offer accepted today on a 32 manual, so this will be my first Maserati I visited PKSupercars to see the car listed on their website but ended up offering on another car which was being sold on behalf of a customer. Three visits to view the car and to pour over the paperwork were made and I did a fair bit of talking to Phil about the car and it's history before deciding that I would like to add this to the collection.
It will take a fair bit of time before I bring her home as a cambelt change will be done first and Phil is very busy at the moment - with the weather being the way it is, I'm in no real hurry but a few nice days and I can see that frame of mind changing.

Sounds good, was it the Blu Nettuno one?

Well done mate that's a great choice of transmission and model! :)

Colour? Miles? Spec?

I will never forget the moment I agreed to buying one and the night before collecting. Still makes me smile. If you have bought one know to Phil then it should be a good car as he really does know them very well. Just make sure it has the red key, lots of history and had some choice upgrades especially contactless throttle body as it's not a case of if it will go but when!

Hi. It was the metallic black one with cream interior. It is a 1999 car and has covered 42k miles. The clutch was done at 38K.

The car has lots of history Phil and has had a lot of money spent on it over the years and has had all the recalls done. It is on 4200 wheels but I like them and they do seem to fill the arches a bit better but that's maybe my imagination. The fact that Phil at PK rates the car so highly was a major factor in buying the car and it will be going back to him for it's care.

One thing I would ask to be done mate which "could" bite you in the future being a manual is end float, please ask Phil to check it for your peace of mind before parting with your hard earned.

Thanks for the advice Phil. I did ask him about 'end float' when viewing the car but I will check again when I go back.

Spot on addition to any collection. A manual 3200 is definitely the buy of the moment. Look back at this moment in 20 years time and gloat.

Not like me to make the right decision - I'm usually like the guy in the old credit card advert. I've vowed never to sell another car because they go up in value after I sell them. I had a low mileage series 1 E type that I sold through lack of garage space - never again!

As long as you sold it and didn't lose out, well done. I'd be worth a fortune if I'd kept all mine, but each financed the next etc. So no complaints.

Like Ewan says manual 3200GT's are the ones to buy, trouble is there's only a handful of nice RHD 3200GT's left!

Having started my Maserati journey with a 4200 Classico cambio corsa never really took to a 3200.
Now working for Maserati and having driven a few manuals I can now say a good one is something else both the 3200 and 4200.
For me I just love the fun of F1.
Phil.
