I owned the successor to the Ami6, the Ami8. The sedan had a sloping rear screen and was, imo, charmless in comparison to the Ami6 above…
The Ami8 I had was an estate version. It did everything I needed it to at the time. Being an art student, its practicality didn’t go unnoticed, and I grew quite fond of it…
I remember being designated driver bringing a bunch of us back from the pub in Holt one evening. Crammed in like sardines, the chef, who was a large gentleman, was shoehorned into the boot for the short hop home. Hah..the handling was ” interesting”. If you know Tom Waits’ material at all, the song “ the piano has been drinking, not me” springs to mind if you just switch piano for car…, Hilarious, if not a little alarming…!:as003:
I had a 2 CV after that…!

Finally got around to fitting my Alpine wheels on to the R4 and fitted 155/80/13 instead of the original 135/80/13.
Fitted them in minutes using one tyre lever a good thrash around the lanes and they don't even need balancing :)IMG_20240404_101518_340.jpgIMG_20240404_101504_442.jpg
