I think they used the last of the black keys on the very early ones. Or maybe there was some other oddness going on. Do you know your chassis number?

I would get a second opinion on that with you having both information cards!

Why would you want a new alarm ecu, they just need to program a new key, exactly the same as if you ordered some spare keys..??

You programme the *alarm* using a working key to put it into learning mode. You then add the new key's *radio* code.

The immobiliser / CODE system is programmed using an SD2/3 and telling the ECU (not the alarm ECU) to accept the new transponder chip as valid.

Two different systems.

Right iv got the new key and mow to start the car I have to enter the code on the silver card with the throttle peddle every time I want to start the car.

Problem is every time I drive now the alarm goes off how do I switch the alarm off or disconect it? Aldo why does the alarm not shut off when ypu disconnect the bat? I take it it has its own lil battery or something

As far as I can work out you cannot add the new key to make the alarm work (without a working key)

You can get past the need for the card by getting yourself to a dealer, who can add it to the car's memory. And *maybe* help with point one.

Alarm and CODE are *separate*

If you want me to give you a call, drop me a PM with your number.

Cool thanks I have understood that the alarm and imobiliser are separate. But there must be a way to disable the alarm completely so it doesnt go off while i am driving aroind?

See my post in your other thread, but ask yourself 'What's the point of an alarm that's easy to turn off without the 'key' '? :(
