I agree that it changed the dynamics but that sounds a bit more then I expected..Regardless of make you need to have very good reasons from moving away from a factory specified tyre size. All the suspension & chassis testing by the manufacturer would have been done on the specified tyre size. Not saying that alternatives are possible but unless you have the technical understanding of the changes and potential impact of those changes leave well alone.
There was an freelance suspension expert just up the road who did lots of consultancy work for manufacturers who used to setup Alfas, including Prodrives Brera S, and although he would make changes to spring rates, dampers, geometry etc. he would rarely change wheel or tyre sizes due to the knock on work it would create.
I don't blame anyone for being sceptical,Its your car so do what you want.
I guess like most I am not convinced of the reasoning for the choice of rubber but know I would not have it on mine or expect to see it on a potential purchase.
Safe driving
It's the rear tyres I had accellera on them they looked stretched inspite being oem size.Jinju....never heard of them....of the are 50 quid for fronts you have the wrong car. I wouldn't put them on my mower.
Tyres are so important IMHO & I wouldn't put my life in the hands of anything other than a decent branded tyre either mid-range or premium.
I'm not made of money & am cost effective where ever I can be. I have used second hand oem parts on cars often and used cheaper stuff sometimes on things but tyres & anything that important.....no...never. I value my life & my wife & kids value that I value my life as well. I can't always do much about others choices but I'm 100% in control of mine.
I would shy away from different tyres on different axles if I could help it & also wouldn't use non manufacturer tyre sizes for no good reason. Just replace all 4 on the Alfa & all 4 on the QP with the same tyre. That being said the 4200 has PZero Rosso on the front & new SuperSports on the back but I didn't like the PZero so the fronts will be changed for SuperSports when due.
I had Nexen's that came on the project 4200 when I bought it & all though they weren't terrible the difference compared to PZero Rosso's & SuperSports is night & day.
What is the idea behind a different size to oem?
I'd dare you to try them the but these aren't super sticky semi-slicks & don't do well in the wet.
Not suitable for spirited driving in the twisties bacaus of there soft sidewall.

Brilliant. The car never goes out in the rain/wet though & I don't think they are the best in the wet. Suited me perfect as I was looking for the best dry performance I could get money no object & the SuperSports certainly fit that Bill.How are the supersports?

I tend to stick to the sizes in the handbook. I base this on the fact that the manufacturer knows more about tyres than I do ;
Don't forget 3rd party commission.That's what they want you to think. Tyre companies often get the contract to supply tyres because they give the best prices to the car maker. They can afford to do it because they know gullible, anal, unknowing or loaded types will just replace like with like, time after time. You couldn't pay me to put Pirelli's on mine.
http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/2016-Test-World-Performance-Tyre-Test.htmEVO do regular tyre tests. The big three of Pirelli, Michelin and Continental are invariably at the top. Companies like Nexus at the bottom. I've never even heard of the rubber band outfit the OP mentions, and they don't appear in the tests. Probably for the good reason that they are not designed for use on EVO type cars (inc Maserati's).
I have P Zerro Rosso on my dry, summer-use-only Maser. Michelin Sport 4 on the other two (but a set of winters on the GT-S at the moment).
