My understanding of this is that it was principally confined to a 'bad batch', and as such, it would identifiable by the batch number.....

I take it there is no history in the car's file that indicates the mileage at which it was fitted... As this would indicate it's condition to some degree, it would also have pointed to your 'issue' being something other than clutch wear....
But do any of us on here know the defective batch numbers to look out for??

Pretty sure it's been discussed in some detail previously- and included a batch number; not that I made a note of it.
Me neither.............Hence the previous question!! I don't think I am going to need one for quite some time as it feels rock solid! The one disadvantage GT's have over CC's is you can't get a % readout on wear!

No, but you can take a look, can't you?

CC readings should always be taken with a pinch of salt, when it starts to m iss gears or slip its time to change

So, I bought the car in May 16 with about 65k on the clock, it’s now reading 72k.
I have a receipt from a service by Autoshield from June 13 when it had 58.5k on the clock that states under the further work section that “this car will require a clutch soon”
It had an owner between then and me.

I always assumed the clutch was never done, but looking at the condition of it, it seems clear it was. From what I have, that’d put the clutch age between 2013 and 2016 and miles at 12k max but then, I have no receipt for it being done.
