After a long lay-up, about 2 years ago I decided to get my 3200 back on the road.
As I was driving I noticed the the car twitched a bit on acceleration and deceleration. Attention was needed, I thought, to the rear bushes - gone soft from the car being laid up for so long.
Maserati wanted £80+VAT for each bush - and they weren't available, so I contacted a UK manufacturer and had some made (incidentally these are available on eBay - id watsontv).
I fitted the bushes, but the improvement was small.
I checked over everything - but nothing was obvious.
In order to pass the MoT, I'd had to have 1 rear tyre fitted - I chose and identical tyre to match the one on the other side (which had 7mm+ tread) and I wondered if this might be the cause.
I have a mate in the tyre trade (Muckles Tyres, Aylesbury) who bought me round 2 run-flat (with amost no tread) tyres which he'd removed during the course of his business. He fitted them in place of my 2 rear tyres, and to my delight, the twitching had gone away.
I've now treated myself, and my 3200, to 4 new tyres and a wheel refurb.
Hopefully, I'll be back behind the wheel in a week or so.
