When I owned a 3200 the red key was like the one shown in the ad, I bought my car without one but wrote to the supplying dealer enquiring about the chance they held onto it at point of sale, as lots did apparently, and hey presto they had it!
Good result for the cost of a stamp.....

Snap, bought mine through trade with no red key, found the supplying dealer and they had the key but wanted to charge an admin fee of £299. Bargain!!!

I wrote to the original and previous owner and he applied on my behalf (after having scanned his License and Passport as did I) and they allowed me to collect it. What a ******* joke!!!!

I had to send a copy of the V5 with the letter proving the car was registered to me at the address I wanted the key posting to! Just postage cost though so mine was a bargain, got a few quid off the purchase because it was missing too.
Admin charge looks to be a p*ss take TBH, just a way to try and extort money from someone, main stealers for you!

I forgot to add that because the original owner applied there was no charge so I wangled it that way and he was more than willing to assist. As you say they know how to extort and get people's backs up. When I raised it with the dealer in question they said "I should be happy to have found the key and that they had archived it for me"!!!!

I've just sent Bender a text asking if he has had a sniff of the barmaids apron again this evening. Too drunk to txt was the response!

My AC didn't come with the red key so I bought a s/h lock set and swapped the whole lot over. Not hugely difficult except for the door handle lock barrels, but lots to change including a couple of ECUs
