Great news guys...plus if orders can be confirmed with BBrakes can take over a few sets when over in June....cut out the £30 postage costs!

P

Frank I could well be up for a set of discs all round and rear pads for the 4200 , for the right money that is , they are not needed at present long way off but for £250 ish approx worth having a set as spare or to sell with the car

regards loz

Davy, the discs and pads are the same thought the Coupe range, its just the handbrake shoes that differ.

The Ferrari 550 Maranello rear discs are now fitted after a couple of hours work today on my 4200GT. I was 99% sure they would fit my car, so after checking all dimensions against the original disc it confirmed my initial findings - that they are indeed the same.

The off-set on both the original disc and the new Brembo Ferrari 550 Maranello rear disc matched (almost exactly apart from a few microns which I put down to manufacturing tolerances/digital caliper calibration) - see below

Maserati disc off-set 74.40mm
Ferrari 550 off-set 74.32mm

The disc runs central in the caliper exactly as it should.

So I now have the front and back 550's on my car and they are performing well with no squeal - very pleased and no more silly Maserati prices for me.

Standard Mintex pads used also in the rear.

Cheers
James

Great news James, you're a credit to the forum, thanks for the photos too!

Hopefully we can now get BBrakes to further cut the price of Maserati ownership too!

Happy days!

I realise just how cruddy the rears discs can get after rebuilding my handbrake last week......not a pretty sight, are these a better quality material and so will rust less?

Deano, as per Conaeros post, hold off buying rear discs for a few days in case we can get a better deal through another supplier, ie BBrakes.

I emailed Gary over a week ago, but have heard nothing.

Deano, can you give him a call, explain you are doing this on behalf of the forum owners, and explain we could have a lot of orders for these parts?
