I agree it is undervalued!! I'm the poor sod trying to sell it but what can you do? It's been on the market for 2 weeks now and not even a bite! Not even a phone call! It's on Autotrader, Pistonheads, the other forum and this one. E-Bay next... However, I'm secretly pleased there's no interest.

Unfortunately, it's the market which dictates the price, not us.

Problem with Maserati is that its a very limited market and these cars can take months to sell...Hang on in there....ITs a good price but may take a while.

I was wondering if that might be the case. I've added the servicing details to the original post so you can see that it has been very well looked after in it's life and the engine runs so sweetly as a result. This really would be a bargain! Maybe I should just do the chains myself and then sell it for £12k?

Tristan, you could do with sorting out the steering wheel leather mate. There's a thread on here somewhere concerned with that as a DIY, it would certainly make it look better and it's only glue??
Cheers

if you genuinely want to sell the car, get rid of this line:

The reason for sale is I can no longer afford to run this car and keep it in tip-top condition. I've priced the car fairly and to sell quickly. The cam chains will need doing in a couple of thousand miles and this has been priced in so no offers!

its all well and good being honest, but this is just going to put people off, your making it sound as if it needs thousands spending on it

I think Beau has a point, that section is a bit negative, you can tell punters that when they have seen the car, but get the interest first.

Good point...I would also take that bit out..............Punters may look at this line and think what has not been doen to the car or has any corners been cut in the maintainance...SUre it hasn't but it gets punters thinking......

Thanks for the input - it is too honest! I assumed that anyone who was going to buy a 3200 would know that the chains need doing at 68500 miles and that they can be costly to run. I didn't want anyone to try and knock the price down on that basis. I'll take that line out of all the adverts...

Thanks for all the input!

I would take out...get some interest, get talking to punters and then talk through the other bits....SOmeone will always try and beat you down on price no matter how cheap it is but you can just talk anout the fact you have priced to take this into account...

Might sound silly but you could try to put the price up slightly if you want a quick sale!

Can always negotiate the price later!!

When we have houses that dont sell i put prices up and it actually gets more interest! Most of the time anyway.....

Good approach, Dem! Be confident and the market will believe it. Too timid and prospective punters may wonder what's wrong with it. Dem, do you find that prospective buyers don't look at houses which are priced below their expected spend, even though number of bedrooms, location etc is all ok? I wonder if some car buyers do the same.

No no no. Come on 3200ers what are you thinking ? These cars are now classics and the numbers are reducing rapidly by the year.

www.howmanyleft.co.uk

Just say no. Stick to your guns:firing4: Its not a family hatchback it's a one of a kind never to be repeated. It has Ferrari DNA.
It never fails to attract on-lookers and admirers. It reaks of class and style.

I'm starting a NO Campaign. If you want a classic like no otherthen cough up John. What are the other options ? A similar looking Honda Prelude :) A 996 of which there are millions. Just say NO not enough my friend.

From this day on all 3200's are minimum 10k ( rough, medium and fine ) Join me now and fight to the death:as007:

Sign up and control the market. For export buyers double it.

So my Alfa 159 20v TI jtdm is worth even more then according to that site only 46 are still around!!!!!

Back on topic though gota agree with the others get shot of that info, let the buyers come to you then talk to them about it, if they are truely enthusiastic then they already know and no need to bring it up at all?

My next car, funnily enough, is going to be the 159 V6 Q4.

If no bites by the end of the week, I will take some better images this weekend and rebrand the advert and up the price to 10k...!

In fact, that would be a great way to sell things - up the price every week by £500 until someone buys it. It would stop the ditherers!
