Hi

I'm very sad to say that I am now selling my beautiful Maserati 3200 as I can no longer justify the running costs against the amount I use it.

This is the more sought after 2001 model with Sport/ Skyhook mode. It has the red Maserati callipers and stainless steel aftermarket back boxes (Quicksliver I think but will double check) which make it sound incredible whilst not OTT around town. It has been fully serviced by main dealers and specialists only and no expense has been spared on it during my 2 years of ownership. It's had a new clutch, cam belts, new radiator, contact-less throttle body, ABS ECU, Phonic wheels, hand brake cable and all brake pipes replaced all in the last 2 years - all in all about £12k of work. It runs beautifully with no dramas. Starts every time and has no engine warning lights. The bodywork and interior are in absolute pristine condition. It comes with one black key and the all important red key, full original toolset, becker stereo with 6CD changer, all manuals plus the very handy garage service manuals. It has just passed it's MOT so has 12 months left.

This is a very reluctant sale (mainly to appease the wife...)

Here are the servicing details:

Thanks.

It is mint pretty much! apart from standard bubbles on the steering wheel... It's been on autotrader for a week but not much interest yet. Just put it on pistonheads yesterday and here today so we'll see. I'm secretly hoping it won't sell but don't tell the missus that! ;)

Shame this wasn't around a few weeks ago before I bought my 4200, looks lovely. I've noticed the bubbling on a few examples, is there any known cause for this? too much time in the sun or anything?

Dodgy italian glue I think! :)

They can be repaired fairly easily as long as you're happy to take the airbag out!

Under valued or what 3200's

No no no. Come on 3200ers what are you thinking ? These cars are now classics and the numbers are reducing rapidly by the year.

www.howmanyleft.co.uk

Just say no. Stick to your guns:firing4: Its not a family hatchback it's a one of a kind never to be repeated. It has Ferrari DNA.
It never fails to attract on-lookers and admirers. It reaks of class and style.

I'm starting a NO Campaign. If you want a classic like no otherthen cough up John. What are the other options ? A similar looking Honda Prelude :) A 996 of which there are millions. Just say NO not enough my friend.

From this day on all 3200's are minimum 10k ( rough, medium and fine ) Join me now and fight to the death:as007:

Sign up and control the market. For export buyers double it.

3200`s wont go any lower, already significant ghibli crossover, and as has happened early 4200 and 3200 very similar price now

Sorry have to say I disagree.

Yes a good low miles 3200 will stay above £10k, but there are so many with 75k+ miles that are still being used which will be worth more as parts than as a whole car soon. They [high miles poor history] will be a £6k this time next year and still drop as they will have so many issues it will be more costly to fix properly then scrap.

I hope I'm wrong, but as you say, a mint Ghibli is worht £12-14k, but a crappy one about £4k

I have to agree Dem. They are becoming a very rare example now and getting in to Classic status. If the car is in good nick and has been looked after, I can see the prices going up, slowly but going up. The main problem for most cars is miles, which tends to put people off a bit. As most of us use them as non-daily drives and we care for them, they should not suffer any great loss, if any.

I disagree - Your too concerned with mileage and not condition and love of a car. I suspect some of you get twitchie and flog your cars if they creep towards a certain mileage. What we have to change is attitude towards higher mileage cars providing they have been cared for. If we just looked at the service manual of a car and the condition then mileage has no look in. Perfect FSH and loads of mileage whats the big deal. There a many marques out there that have been around the world and a hundred owners in immaculate condition regardless of mileage. Are we too snobish about mileage and missing the point ?

See link and then reply :)

Paul,

I understand your point as I have a 81 Golf with 125k on the clocks, however.

An issue with modern cars is the tech in them, as it fails it gets harder and harder to find replacements and fewer garages carry the equipment to find the faults. Cars get repaired in back street garages and evetually end up scrapped due to a component failing.

The car listed has been looked after by 2 owners and I am sure they fitted the right spares and did not try a 'bodge' a repair...sadly many Maserati's end up un-loved and owners shift the poor ones asap as they do not want to spend the money looking after them.
