this sucks - and will ruin the "vintage market" for future years . The proper old cars are much loved and cared for, where our 3200's are flling into the hands of non-enthusiasts. If this continues there will be none left for future classic use.

I don't know whether it is an Italian thing, or just the management of Maserati, but this kind of nonsense has always amazed me, a bit like the Centenary tickets..??

A carefully planned social media campaign ?
Maybe they need to hear more from enthusiasts who continue to enjoy the "older" cars.

They get favourites on their posts but not too many comments

I must admit seeing parts like pedal potentiometers at 500 and abs ecu at 2700 it is taking things way too far considering that both of those parts are cheap Bosch units. The prices are the only thing which could stop these cars from becoming classics....

Almost criminal, a cartel at the best
I got this from a well known international brake disc manufacturer.
Hi Neil

I have been forwarded your enquiry from (**** Manufacturer HQ) . These brake discs are manufactured by ****, but exclusively for the manufactures and they are not available as an aftermarket part due to contractual agreement.

So the OEM disc from the manufacturer is the only route to get this product.

Kind regards

I will write a strongly worded reply telling them that there are any number of Chinese manufacturers who will provide me with discs at about $20 each!

Neil have posted alternatives. You can get 550 discs on eBay at a fraction of the price

Here it is. Well you have to be direct.

Dear Sirs,

Thanks you for your response.

There are no end of Chinese manufacturers who offer to copy the discs 500 times for about $20 a piece.

It would be very easy to flood the market with these should a motivated person or consortium so desire.

We suggest you get the discs made and for a proper price. NOT the current extortionate £500 a pair for discs which should retail for about £150 a pair.
£500 a pair will buy bespoke 2 piece discs made by a race brake company.

Yours sincerely

Neil Willetts
Management Consultant and Maserati Owner.

Yes...and end up 'pimped' and really spoiling the brand image.
