    Gearbox rear bracket

Thanks allot for the replies above. Yes I saw the price tag, so that’s why I wanted to double check with this forum before just buying and trying. The advice on QP part is an alternative I will definitely check. Excellent. Having to put nuts on shouldn’t be a problem. As I recall there is...

    Gearbox rear bracket

Hi! Some time since I was here. Anyhow, a couple of weeks ago I had the 4200 out on the annual chasing-modern-Ferraris track day. Fun as always. By the end of the day I noticed some clunky sound coming from the rear when getting off load. My car has a manual gearbox. Having a look underneath...

    LHD MC Victory on Ebay

I was some years ago on a factory tour at Maserati. The 4200/GS still in production. The guide told me that their test cars, which typically were analysed after 75 000 km normally had more power than when new, and more than rated on spec.

    Rear & brake light issue

Is it an early model? It might be the wrong power on the on the bulbs (W). It happened on my car from 2002 and the result was regularly flashing rear lamps. I think the set up is different between different years. My car only has one bulb in each lamp as rear light, with a separate brake light...

MOT brake test on rolling road ?

Exactly. They don’t test my Range Rover either. Would require a two axle bed with adjustable length.

MOT brake test on rolling road ?

I don’t know how the rolling bed looks like in UK. Are they only testing one wheel at a time? Here both are rolling and tested at the same time. I suppose that makes a difference. However they are not able to test 4wd cars.

Awesome GS track vid on youtube

Interesting and risky habit to wave ones arm outside the car instead of using indicators to let others pass. On all track days I've attended it has been prohibited to have the side window down. At least on drivers side. Nice video and track though.

Alternative parts, what everyone needs to know...

Thanks, good discount! Pity they don’t seem to have other than the “standard” Pagid. I run the yellow Pagid with good result on both the 4200 and my track day 944, but they are unfortunately about £300 / axle. But I’m tempted to try the “normal” ones now on the rear of the Porsche to start...

    Measurements 4200 shockers

Hello, I am located outside Lund/Malmö and have owned my 4200 since 2005. Nice combo with the Maranello, I had the same plan some years ago, but was too slow and now the 550 prices have gone crazy.. I did lower the car with the shocks / springs installed on the car. It was in 2009, but if I...

    Measurements 4200 shockers

Hej Erik, By lowering the car the way described above, to my understanding wouldn't make it softer or the spring tension lesser. The car will still sit with its weight compressing the springs the same amount. However the shock travel will be reduced and that may cause the bottoming out. I...

    Tracking/Geo

I suppose the old tires partly adapts to the wear of the rest of the components in the process and get more or less unevenly worn. Then the misalignment will get more obvious with new straight tyres mounted. Even more notable on cars with stiff low profile tyres.

    Stainless bolts

I here found a simple and good guide to your question regarding switch to stainless bolts: http://www.volksbolts.com/faq/basics.htm A "standard" bolt is typically of 8.8 quality. For higher loads, which could be the case for suspension components 10.9 or even 12.9 can be used. See marking on...

Set up gone wrong - falling out of love with the GS

I would start with checking the tyre pressures, especially if the tyres were changed at the same time you did the first alignment. Too high pressure makes terrible results on the handling on those cars is my experience. I remember once I went home after changing my rear tyres and had a hard time...

    Wishbone ball joint repair?

This is a nice solution available for Porsche 944: http://rennbay.com/Ball-Joints/944-ball-joint-kit-solid-bushing.html Even though the design is different on the Maseratis it would be nice to find a similar solution. If I'm not wrong the Maserati arms don't have openings behind the ball joints?

Perfect, if it is £300 + 50 that absolutely sounds reasonable. I'm on :)

Where to find some straight through rears exhausts ?

I still have the original cats though. Today combined with the X-pipe and CSC sport back boxes.

Where to find some straight through rears exhausts ?

I am tempted. Already have the X-pipe. In sound volume how would you judge the installation compared to e.g. a GandTourismo MC with open valves, or other comparable modern "loud" cars like Jaguar F-Type or Ferraris? Would be great if still possible to attend track days without swapping back (95dB).

2003 Spyder- Test drove it, now some questions?

Interesting to read about the clutch issue. Not so many manual cars around. I had exactly the same experience on my GT and it annoyed me allot. I first thought it was wrong assembled or something as the upper position of the pedal was above the brake pedal. What I did was to buy a new pedal...
