Negatives, none really, a bit of torque steer when you boot it.

A 2WD Range Rover, just isn't right though, even if 99.9% of the time it is not required.
Out of interest, did it come with summer tyres, or all season tyres?

I would appreciate it if anyone knows of any good (cheap) leasing offers at the moment.
Looking for a 4/5 door , diesel automatic. Just a run around to save miles on the imminent arrival.
I was thinking Golf/A1 or even a Ford. Any ideas welcome- open to experimentation!

Mercede A-class such as A180?

Problem with that car is underneath its a Renault Kajar...look below elbow level in the cabin and it really shows.

From persoanl experaince, the Audi Q3 was brilliant albeit quite boring, the Evoque has surprised me with its quality and would have no hesitation to recommend one, its a lovely, lovely vehicle. OK the styling might not be for everyone and was a major concern of mine but if you can see past that and go for a dark colour you will be very pleased. You should be able to get one for £260 plus vat on a 36 plus 9 with a mileage of 8-10k per annum and feel its worth stretching that little bit further for one.

If it a bargain your after, VW/Audi are always dropping in some stunners, a descent Golf D can be had for about half that of the Evoque.

I know MLC recently got the Seat version of the Golf for a crazy stupid deal.

There is also an Infinity that they cant give away for love nor money, the styling is very Meh, but you get a fully loaded quality car with a 2.2 200hp D for £150 plus VAT. It has everything as standard, nav, leather, the lot.

If its cheap and cheerful city car that your after, then you cant go wrong with a Fiat 500 if your secure in your masculinity of course. Dont get the 1.2, its gutless but the car is very well screwed together and my only complaint was the seats, so try and get something with side support/upgraded seats.

My wife fancied a change after 5 Mini Cooper S’s back to back over the last 12 years. We drove an A Class 220Cdi, I had tried to tell her it was a diabolical yet pretty car. She drove one and was staggered at just how bad it was. The ride is crashy, the engines are weak and the build quality is dreadful. In the end we went back to Mini and bought a Paceman Cooper S All4, cracking car and good value too, worth considering a Countryman for your needs Iain.

Can't believe you didn't shell out for a Levante for her Dicky ! :)

She’s begging for one, I’ll have one in a year or so; although a Macan S is a cracking car too.

Love the Macan you have for sale!
Sadly I need to keep the lease one really tight for it to make sense getting rid of the evoque. I am loathe to do it as I really like it. Good tips matt- agree in an ideal world. The golf D would be my top choice if a really good deal came out. I think I missed one recently. I like the look of the A class- but I think that might be a bit rich on the monthlies.

The Macan S over a Levante every time for me....

I would agree personally. But I suppose the levante is bigger. If you had money to burn and loved Maserati's the petrol levante would be a nice inclusion to a fleet. Hard to compete with a fully loaded Range Rover sport though.

I had a diesel Levante for a few days in the summer & enjoyed it, it was a very capable SUV. Am hoping to have a go in a petrol one later in the month, will report back, but am very much looking forward to it from what I've read.

My budget is car number 1) insane for any normal human
Car 2) As low as possible to reduce my guilt re; purchase of car number 1.
Hence car 2 cannot be something as nice
As a stelvio. I am selling my ‘evoke’ which I really like. So the replacement has to be something like a Leon/ polo on lease or an old golf GTdi I think.
Please dem let me know if you hear of any deals! The sooner
The better
