Oh, bu99er, shouldn't have opened me gob.

If someone else wants to jump in, please do, otherwise I'll dream something during my kip tonight

I think i know which island is involved but i have no idea of the link so i will leave this for one for others. Mine would be little more than an educated guess.

Love Island?? Maybe three "hookers" entertaining the troops?
Certainly a bravery award would be well earned going anywhere near that bunch of slappers :)

Very true, not that I watch it you understand.

Unfortunately, Mr. Pea's insinuation of the quality of my dreams didn't conjuy that up either.

'Fraid not, but very drole

Yup, Malta. Pretty sure that it was a VC, but you may be correct with George Cross.

So what links those two with 'Faith', ' Hope', and 'Charity'?, Who or what were they, and what links them with Malta and the Cross?

As with all heroics, there is some degree myth and legend surrounding them, not entirely always correct, but even so, doesn't detract from the endeavour.

What island links: 'Faith' 'Hope' 'Charity' with the Victoria Cross

Is the Crimea an Island? The VCs were originally made from cannons captured at Sevastopol, I think.... Were 'Faith', 'Hope' & 'Charity' Florence Nightingale's sisters :) ?

I'm pretty sure the Feet Air arm had about 3 planes left at the end - those crappy biplanes that were used on the raid on the Italian fleet (can't remember the type) - were they called Faith, Hope & Charity?
