Good morning
I am looking for the location of the yaw rate sensor. Still trying to fix my sport button. Can anyone help me identify it’s location in a GS spyder ?

thanks
Paul

A second item maybe your guys can help with. How can you check if an acceleration sensor is good or not ?
I have bought vertical and lateral acceleration sensors and yaw sensors and I am just planning to replace them one by one. Seems desperate but my dealer charged me two hours of work and could not come up with a solution. Any help is much appreciated.

thanks

Have you tied putting the part number into Eurospares? It’ll give you a diagram and location.

Take a step back …..

Explain the problem you have with the sport button ?

The Yaw sensor if fitted is in the tunnel. But it combines vertical and lateral acceleration sensing for traction control, not sure what other sensors you have purchased ?

the problem is that my sport button does not work.
when I unplug the ECU the dampers do go hard. So it must be one of the sensors...

at what point in the tunnel ? How is it accessible ?
How does one test if the acceleration sensors are ok ? resistance ?

thanks for the help guys.

Hi,

Unplugging the suspension ECU will put the shocks into fail safe position ( hard ) but this is not real sport mode.
Firstly do you have suspension warning light on when you have the ECU plugged in ?

Do you have any ABS warning lights up ? Any other issues ?

The body and wheel acceleration sensors ( 5 in total ) need 5vdc and output 2.5vdc at vehicle steady state.
The Yaw sensor outputs data only and is mounted at the barycenter of the vehicle.

Have you had any diagnostics run on the vehicle, fault codes ?

Regards
Steve

It's on your tunnel, i recall on a Spyder it was underneath the button panel (where your start button is) or bellow your F1 lever.
8/10 times you just need to redo configuration versus replacing sensor (and you'll often need to program a new sensor anyway)

Thank you for helping. I have not trouble lights on the dash. Car was in for service at the Ferrari dealership and they charged me two hours of labour and came up with nothing wrong.
So that is why I am thinking of just going at it on my own. their minimum charge is two hours and they guarantee no success.

so again, no ABS, no other lights. If I press the sport button light does light up on the dash so it is receiving the signal and opening up the flap on the exhaust.

Not having a error light doesn't mean there isn't a stored DTC in the module,
But you're having the issue of no Sport mode, but Sport light goes on and the exhaust flaps open? (so you're just missing firmer suspension and quicker shifting?)

Could you just confirm what you are expecting in Sport Mode that doesn’t happen ?
Your first post suggested the Sport button was the issue, but it’s working and with no trouble lights up it’s back to square one.

mind I get the quicker shifting. Just no firmer suspension is what is missing.

unplugging the ecu is not a test, that's limp mode max hard, skyhook is some what adaptive it should firm up a bit but not hugely. (not like pulling a plug)
Do a readout of the skyhook computer what the parameters are

In the absence of any system fault indication it would seem nothing is wrong. I would suggest a full diagnostic scan but it looks like that has already been done.
