Would my fitted phone be locked to a network, Getting incorrectly fitted sim message?

Sorry to trouble anybody, but Ive just fitted a new sim card to my 2008 Granturismo & I`m getting an "incorrectly fitted sim" message ?

It works fine on the old O2 sim, but this new one, (Carphone Warehouse ID network (think is the 3 network)) doesn`t.
Ive checked the fitting & it`s fine, but I`m thinking either the new sim is faulty or the carphone is maybe locked to O2 ?

The car was originally specified with the GSM Telephone 900 option. I`d really appreciate any help if anyone knows.

All the best

Dont quote me as gospel but im sure the phone system on the 4200's will only accept a 2g card. If the 2008 GT is the same that would explain why the old 02 card works and the new one doesn't.

Try the sim In an unlocked phone and if it works you can rule out a faulty sim.

I suspect it's the network that's your issue. 3 is on a different band from o2 and vodafone of old and when the 4200 was made, this would have been an issue. I'd try an o2 or vodafone sim in it and see what happens. They run 900 mhz networks.

The gsm 900 and gsm 1800 bands are the 2G only bands hence the need for a 2G compatable network card. There is an ofcom list that shows which networks are still supporting 2G on their network.
