Hi All,

After a few test drives I am now taken with getting myself a 2013+ granturisom (facelift). Currently driving a manual mustang but ready for a change.

My preference is red or grey but will consider other colours depending on spec. Happy with either auto or MC shift gearbox.

Ideally I would like a well spec‘d one with some carbon options / MC wheels (I know, wishfull thinking)

My budget is £40k - £50k. Happy to travel pretty much anywhere for the right car.

I suspect I am in for a long wait to find ‘the one’ but lets see.

This is a decent example, you can add the alloys afterwards (I did this when I purchased mine and Richard pointed me in the direction of the seller). If this one doesn’t tick your boxes then I’m sure Richard will help source another. A great person to deal with.

Thanks, I parked mine next to it when I went to see it - colour was so close lol
It will be interesting to hear how you see the comparison. For those of us considering moving on, the Mustang is an interesting way of getting an affordable, newer car which ticks many of the same boxes as the GranTurismo. Mind with you coming the other way I guess you have answered the question already!

Such different cars it’s almost impossible to compare. The handling in the Mas is so much better than the Mustang, but getting the back end out on the Mustang is easy and predictable whereas on the Mas it’s not so much (you can feel the mustang starting to go but on the Mas, one second it’s there and the next it isn’t :p)
Mustang feels much newer with keyless entry, start button & touchscreen etc.
Loads more modifications that require easily obtainable for the Mustang, if you’re into that.

I love my mustang - its a 2018 FL so has an active exhaust and magneride suspension etc. But its a manual (I am getting lazy in my old age) and I am craving a change. For me I am looking for something rare, looks great and brings a lot of theatre to the driver with an awesome exhaust note. For Under £50k there is not much that ticks all these boxes.. (maybe a Lexus LC500, Audi R8 or Aston Vantage). Handling and speed less of a priority for me. It will be a daily driver for my for my 15mile round trip.

Trouble with me, is I really like well specced cars - so could be waiting forever if I get too fussy..

Stradale. Ultimate theatre. I may be biased.....

I had an imported S197 Mustang, it was “relatively” rare given they were not making RHD ones at the time, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, easy to drive and own with loads of mods and support available.

However it never really get “special” enough, afterall it was an ordinary everyday car in the USA, as it is here now in its RHD form.

The interesting ones were the late 60’s Mustangs - a friend of mine in Australia had a Boss 429 (7.0L) which was a monster. I remember driving with him in the mid 80’s and the rear wheels locking on downshift from the compression of the large engine. A thrill!

Not gonna get a Strad for under £50k and most of you lot would have panic attacks at the thought of somebody actually putting miles on a car :)

To the OP - Any post 2013 GT will do you proud and even the MC Autoshift is very good as an auto and in Sports manual.

Mine enjoyed being used as an everyday car and IMO was all the better for it.

Useful, thanks. I’ve had magnetic ride before on Audis’ and like it but I suspect it is not that easy to find on a used car. There is something really interesting about a Mustang in a loud colour but I would go auto. No faster than the Maser mind which is a tad annoying as my car (4.7 auto GranTurismo) is no quicker than Mrs BBs Golf R.

Well, has got me thinking - maybe i push the budget to £60k and try and find a high mileage Stradale..

Out of interest, is the exhaust note on the Stradale louder / different vs the standard car? Clearly a different exhaust system but interested to know if this makes any difference to the ‘theater’.

Thanks all
