Thats brilliant Catman many thanks.
I am not at all mechanically minded and I am pretty sure the F1 pump is on its way out too so probably wouldnt chance the journey.
Will let you know when the part comes in so can send more pics over if necessary.

Oh you don't need to bring the *car* Just the two units :)

Alternatively my mother is in a care home in Sandy, which is a *little* closer (and why I keep heading up there. so we could probably meet somewhere, or just pop them in the post.

I think the biggest issue is going to be getting a plug to connect to the new unit, but let's see.

Thanks C.
I previously bought a dashboard from Greg Smith-he sent it out with the other part of the connector and part of the loom with it.
I could probably contact him if you think the one I have ordered not be any good?

I'm sure it'll be fine, but if you have the connector you bought from Greg it would make things simpler (and quicker) in terms of getting you back on the road

He took both bits back and refunded my money-he is a decent man.
I should have reached out earlier when I was given the bad news instead of trying to fix it myself.
Maybe he will sell me the connector on its own if I am lucky....

Doesn't look like it would be impossible to solder directly to those pins or even get some crimp on terminals that would fit.

Looks very similar to these:

Hi C.
I have been looking to see if I can can get the other connector to wire up the new dashboard and had no joy.
Tried various breakers and Eurospares.
Would it be OK if I send you both units so you can see what you can do to get it working for me?
Regards,
Gary.
