I've been waiting 6 weeks for vredesteins to come back into UK stock and I've just had confirmation from camskill that mine are being delivered tomorrow. Just a heads up for anyone else who may have been waiting on them.

i had a set of 4 put on in oct, just had to have the rears changed, as looking like slicks. only done ~3k. I know i have been doing lots of smaller trips over the last few months so probably playing around a bit more, but does this seem right ?

3K miles.....dreadful.......even worse than the 911 I had, 4.5K max in normal driving!!!

Evenly worn or just shoulders?

even, both nice and flat all the way across. was a bit shocked when i checked them, after the back was feeling rather loose on these frosty mornings going through the lanes

Not good, its a normal compound am sure....wonder what other experiences are? Just fitted my rears 400 miles ago.....hate to think have only 20 more long round trips to Belfast left in them!!!!

Steve, would be interesting to see what the treadwear rating is...shown on the sidewall, it will be a number like 160, 220, etc...

Off Wiki....

Treadwear grades are an indication of a tyre's relative wear rate. The higher the treadwear number is, the longer it should take for the tread to wear down.

A control tyre is assigned a grade of 100. Other tyres are compared to the control tyre. For example, a tyre grade of 200 should wear twice as long as the control tyre.

Of current tyres:

15% are rated below 200

25% are rated 201 - 300

32% are rated 301 - 400

20% are rated 401 - 500

6% are rated 501 - 600

2% are rated above 600

Is that more a compound ratio Enz.......whats soft and whats hard?

P

No P...this is taken from the Car Bible (wheel and Tyre section)

The tread-wear rating - a comparative rating for the useful life of the tyre's tread. A tyre with a tread-wear rating of 200, for example, could be expected to last twice as long as one with a rating of 100. Tread-wear grades typically range between 60 and 600 in 20-point increments. It is important to consider that this is a relative indicator, and the actual life of a tyre's tread will be affected by quality of road surfaces, type of driving, correct tyre inflation, proper wheel alignment and other variable factors. In other words, don't think that a tread-wear rating of 100 means a 30,000 mile tyre.
