So while I will get this looked at in the new year in the meantime I’ve taken some measures to avoid the rattle. So my rattle only seemed to happen if the GT sat for a couple of days. So I got a blank key from eBay and got it cut. If the cars been sitting a few days I use this key to crank the engine a bit, as it has no immobiliser chip the engine doesn’t fire up. Then I use the normal key to start the car. So far never had a rattle. When I do this I make sure the battery is either been on trickle charge or hook up a booster.

How does this rattle sound?

I have a very slight tapping from the engine on cold starts but it doesn't rattle on startup. My engine number should mean variators shouldn't be an issue.
