I'm traveling to Porton Down and the Salisbury area and will be there from Monday through Wednesday, working with Dstl. Are there any interesting areas, things or places to see while I have some down time there? Looking for anything from those in the know.

The three biggest attractions there now are Stonehenge, the Cathedral and Zizzi’s. The last of which is new entry, care of the KGB.

Go to Salisbury, it's plenty good enough to attract two Russians for a day trip from the city!

What happened was lethal, but it could have been catastrophic for the whole region if the nerve agent had been released to a wider audience. However, I'm in Salisbury every week and have never stayed away; I'm not foolish, I just don't buy the media cr@p and exaggeration surrounding the incidents and I really feel for the local folk, especially traders, who have suffered as a result of some very shoddy and sensationalist journalism.

Salisbury is a lovely place and ramping up for Christmas. It is well worth a visit!

I'd definitely have a good look at the 123m spire on Salisbury Cathedral. Worth travelling all the way from Vladivostok for that alone.

It apparently looked better in the March snow - not that I noticed.

My trip to DSTL at Porton Down was cancelled, so I'm heading up to Cheltenham to visit with a friend of mine who owns a company that we do business with. Now, if only the weather would improve!!!
