Lotus Exige 280, i could not spend that on an Exige, you would have just as much fun in an Exige S with the PP for around £25k. 911 would be a good buy but too popular and "dull". Sagaris, that will kill you no question about it although it is a beautiful car. Lotus 2-11, love those to death.

Well there are always people out there who love a brand new car, me , i dont see the fascination of it, i think most people only buy new so they can show off to their friends they have had a new car. I would only buy new if i won the lotto.

It depends actually, was talking to a friend yesterday (lambo pj man) Who has just put dep down on the new M5 but did get 8k off the list as hes a good customer....i still wouldnt buy new as that car would loose half in 3years but the people who buy new dont seem to care.....

The 1M will be a lovely car but its has to be fully loaded at 40k as then it pushes it up with the M3.....at 40k all in id say its not bad

No point frank, if i listened to the mrs 3 years ago she wanted a new alfa spyder, before i got my car, they were 32k, now you can get a 3 year old for 12k.....im not a rich man to loose 20k, thats 7k a year almost.....

Adam, an Exige S with PP is closer to 30k and over.....An standard S is 24k to 28k......

That view may change as you get older and get more disposable income Adam.
For me, I had been been looking for a good six months and there were no used examples to the spec I wanted. So either I had to go new or wait and wait and wait...

Trust me, if it's your dream car you don't even give it a second thought.
Until you go to sell it a couple of years later.....

I am not saying it to put people off, it is the same for a lot of cars and just the exotic stuff like Maserati/Ferrari. A friend of mine's Dad bought a brand new Audi S4 in April 2010, all the goodies, DSG 'box, sport seats, 19" wheels, 9k miles cost new £42k, wanted to swap for an S5 Cabrio, dealer gave offered £31k. A great used buy but scary depreciation over a 13 month period.

I wouldn't buy a new car if there were loads of used examples around, that's for sure. Audis are everywhere. You can't cross the road without one trying to run you over...

No suppose not, obviously depreciation will effect the more popular cars like BMW, Audi, Mercedes etc.

i think bmws hold good value..............audis do not hold aswel and as for mercs well........
a used bmw with a big engine does depreciate but not the 2.0 diesels, they still 10k for a 5 year old 1 series......

I dont know why BMW's hold their value well because the interior quality is **** along with Merc, Audi have the best quality interior IMO, especially the A4, much better than the 3 series and C Class.
