Its nice here in France as we don't pay road tax and 2 year Control Technique the MOT.
Insurance is more expensive but my guess is we get better cover.
Best bit no salt on the roads around Laval.

That is early to sorn, try to keep mine off the road once salt is down but again life is too short if I want to use it I will.

My GS is going in for a full underbody waxoyl treatment in early October and will then be used whenever the weekend coincides with a decent day where it’s not pissing with rain or there’s ice/snow on the roads.

This might be a lot, it might be a little, but hopefully it will be enough to keep the car ticking over...

Points are all well made, trouble is I have zero free time now for the next eight weeks so no point wasting money in tax (maybe I should put that on the 'know' thread).

Car has been undersealed this year, so that's not a worry; even serviced after just 850 miles by specialist.

Wish I had more free time like others, but I don't at this point in time... so to bed she goes until April.

Peter my old friend from Bristol.
Life is for Living.
It took me a long time to learn that.
A Big lifestyle choice of moving from NZ to France made me realise that.
I work when I have too and enjoy life to the max the rest of the time.
Currently enjoying the hunt and chase for my GT car before breakfast.

Well at least there was one last 'Hurrarr' of a summer before I SORN'd the GS again for the winter.

Think I did less miles this year than the 800 last year. Need to get a better job that does not ruin most weekends.

You want to get yourself a daily QP, mate.

I suppose I had better start thinking about when to put the winter tyres on.....

I used to leave mine in the garage once the salt was on the roads but if after a rainy spell, the salt had been washed off I would sometimes sneak out for a blast. I did this once and to my great annoyance - caught up with a gritter!

One last weekend of fun as alas mine will have SORN from Monday. I took it out for a mini blast to Worcester and back to Birmingham yesterday. Naturally came home the long way through the lanes. I will leave it parked up until Spring with the handbrake off and in gear.

This is true but on my 10 day jaunt Calais - Normandie - Calais I racked up 70 quid in tolls!

Yeah we pay tolls and get first class motorways and services you look forward to staying in.
We choose National roads usually as we have the time.
