LAPD is searching for a car thief who obviously knew what he was doing. He told the salesman he wanted to just sit and hear the engine roar... and then took off with the car.

TBH there are also a lot of very trusting people out. I have gone to look at a car and found it unlocked with the engine running, I have sat inside cars with the engine running, whilst the owner has been outside!...

Same here, i have been to buy the mrs an mx5 years ago and was given the keys to the car with all the paperwork in the glovebox.......

I've had similar experience. I tihnk the thing is, 99.9% of poeple are trustworthy. Well, 90% maybe....and for the car dealer, its an eery day affair. I bouht a car with my sis and the dealer just gave us the keys "there's the car, let me know if you've got any questions".

He later gave us his insurance docs and said "post office is a mile up there, go tax it!" haha....
