Now that you mention that, the circumstances behind the 1976 Sterling Crisis seem to be oddly and spookily similar. That too seemed to have its roots in an attempt by the Conservatives to gamble with OUR economy to hold onto THEIR power in conjunction with an energy crisis.

Perhaps the IMF has a slightly longer memory than the QuasiKoherent/Tossanomics Poker Club? They have learned nothing and unless she and her chancer (er I meant chancellor) are given the boot, we will all pay the price.

Or perhaps bankrupting our economy, leaving it to Labour to make massively unpopular decisions and have a one-term Starmer government is their version of long term thinking?

Maybe they have learnt something from 1976?

Nah… they couldn’t be that stupid, could they?

For the first time in my life I feel sorry for Boris. He finally achieved something - being the worst ever British Prime Minister.
Then only weeks later he loses the title big time to Truss.
He must be gutted!!

Just listened to truss being interviewed on local BBC radio, talk about car crash. Can't see her lasting the rest of this government.

Caution, it's painful

They did well… in fact they did better than a lot of the big channel interviewers, who have more to lose in terms of future access. Absolutely ripped her to shreds!

OMG!! If there was an election now
There would be only 3 Tory MPs left in the entire country the SNP a Scottish only party would be the official opposition.

Phil, please drop the corbynista ****. There's no way he would have been good for the UK.

He was a secret brexiteer, a passive anti-Semitic, would be a walkover for the Unions, decimate our military, rid us of our nuclear deterrent and nuclear power stations. Increase taxes for those who've done well in their lives. (Plus other stuff I can't think of at the moment)

He was only elected as Labour leader as they didn't like the other candidates. The British public saw through him and that's why labour lost many of their heartland constituencies.
