I'm flying to Gatwick on the Tuesday 6th to be collected by my driver, he is advising Gatwick want £42 for short term parking - I hope there is a better collection point or I will be getting a train to Three Bridges or similar and he can collect me there.

@midlifecrisis may have a plan B, but don't under-estimate how slow it can be to get a train out of Gatwick in case of any delays. Otherwise Three Bridges is a sound plan (just not infallible).

The short stay parking at Gatwick is about £7.50 for an hour.

Thx, that doesn't seem that bad, driver needs to do more investigation

If you really want free, then this is probably slightly more convenient than catching a train:

Anyone who does not wish to pay the forecourt charge will be able to drop off or pick up passengers in the airport’s long-stay car parks with two hours free parking and a free shuttle bus to the terminals. Follow the signs for 'North Terminal long stay' or 'South Terminal long stay', depending on which terminal your passenger is flying from. Take a ticket at the barrier, park your car in a bay in an open zone and catch the free shuttle bus to the terminal. Once you’ve picked your passenger up and are ready to leave, simply scan the ticket on exit for free parking for up to two hours.

There's a Lidl car park opposite three bridges, your driver could wait there. Otherwise you could go up to horley. Anywhere away from the airport will be cheaper.

The powers that be at Gatwick have really nailed down on drop off parking, even for us staff. I used to be able to go through the £5 fast track security for free but now it's half price.

Do we know dates for 2024? I'm hearing the race dates as 7-8 June, but doesn't seem to be confirmed.

You have to pay to go through security to work on the systems they need to operate! Fook that
