We were having a discussion on Sunday at Stanford regarding the last 3200 production run ..

I was led to believe Septemper to November 2001 were the last months of the 3200 production and as these cars were made to order... the last few cars registered in 2002 were straglers the dealers were left with and coulden't sell when the 4200GT was launched

Does anyone have a definative list...or maybe some one knows different

Mine is chassis 4890 and is an asseto corsa built to the Po spec
First registered in October 2001 and I believe it was one of the last few rolling out of the factory.

IF 32s reach classic status, and personally I think they will, then the production run was so short that year of manufacture will not count for many additional "points" IMO. All dependant on original condition/history/mileage etc but I think that the AC will be top of the tree then possibly rarer colour combos............hope you kept your exhaust boxes phil ;)

I was jesting mate but I still think MY99 sounds nicer than 2003, that's just too new for me :)

Exhaust boxes nah? In the bin as they are made from weetabix. Now got proper stainless steel on there. Will be a big selling point!

As we are talking about originality, anyone knows where to source the exact same type of black leather used on the AC?
I want to redo my dashboard and A pillars but would like to do so with the correct type of leather

Try Greg @ PPCP as he maybe able to help with physical replacements rather than just the leather. He has broken an AC in the recent past

The VIN for my old AC was 4877 but wasn't registered until December 2001, I guess our cars would have been almost side by side in the factory at one point

Mine was lhd so maybe that's a different assembly line.
Im guessing shipping to the UK also introduces a bit of delay.

I think the difference between those two cars would be close to 6/7 hours behind each other on the production line.

Mine's an April 2002 registration but the VIN is in the 3900s so I guess it was one of those that sat around in Stratstone's showroom ;)

Obviously AC's will have a premium and a lower mileage will help but given the number of 3200's produced / remaining even the poorest of cars if not broken for parts will find their values dragged up. You only have to look of other cars with questionable history to know sometimes mileage and service history goes out of the window.

Porsche and Ferrari are slightly different.

Hey guys,

This is my first post to your forum and it seems very informative.

I have 2 x 3200's and they are both awesome. One auto and one manual. How do I find out the production dates for these?

For example one of the VIN ends in #001393.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome to the Forum.
Email your local main dealer with the ViN numbers and you will get the manufacture date, list of options, etc.
However, your title of ownership should state the manufacturing date as well.

They will also give you a list of campaigns/recalls against the car.

You seem to have an early model, so the recals are very important, specificaly the one that addresses the steering rack that might come loose while driving!
